TONS of braxton hicks

So I've been having A TON of braxton hicks, so many that I can actually time them.  They aren't painful at all though...I've been drinking plenty of fluids an being as active as possible thinking they would go away but they are definetly still there.  Anyone else expirence this? I'd love to hear that it's a sign labor is on its way, but I'm sure it's wishful thinking :( oh I'm 39 +4!

Re: TONS of braxton hicks

  • I've been feeling that since 36w. But, I'm a STM, so that has a lot to do with it. Crossing my fingers for you.

  • Its a sign that your body is getting ready but it doesn't mean that you will go into labor today, or tomorrow, or the next day... It is just a waiting/guessing game. However BH's are a good sign!
  • Idk, I've had Braxton hicks all along and about two days before my water broke, I was having a ton.  All irregular and painless. When I went in after my water broke, they asked if u was having contractions.  I replied only Braxton hicks... They hooked me up and checked, and confirmed they ere actual contractions.  Fingers crossed for you, so exciting!

  • I wish there was a little belt we could wear at home that would help us tell if we were having BH or contractions or gas! I have had alot of BHs. When I went into maternal observation last weekend (for another reason) she said I was having "irritations" which turned out to be her word for small contractions. I couldn't even feel them but it was fun to know my body was doing something!

  • I've been getting them almost constantly during sleeping hours and lay awake in bed wondering if today could be the day. yesterday it wasn't, and the day before wasn't, but maybe today? tomorrow? good luck to you!
