i will be 8 weeks tomorrow and im already showing i work with a girl who is y months and just started showing. also have a friend that didnt start showing until she was 8 months!
I will be 8 weeks tomorrow and I am showing. Everyone kept tryign to tell me it is bloat, and it definitely isn't. I'm normally very thin. I still have my flat tummy, but then a small rounded pooch at the bottom. Even when I weighted 15 pounds more than I do now and was PMSing, I never had a tummy like this. Even though the baby is very small right now, I know my uterus has grown considerably in my ultrasound I had this week, and I think your body adjusts accordingly.
Unless this is your second baby: it's bloat, not a bump.
I started showing around 16-18 weeks when I was pregnant with DD (but it wasn't too noticeable to anyone but to anyone but me). I was really showing around 20-22w.
Check this out:
Your uterus is still really tiny and just barely above your pubic bone.
That being said, bloat is serious!! I was super bloated during my 1st tri this time. But it decreased around 10 weeks. But even though I'm a STM I still didn't start showing until a few weeks into 2nd tri.
Also, how far along is your first friend? You said "y" weeks.
I love you, you are always ready with this chart and I love it!!

I started showing a little bit at 11-12 weeks, but I was really tiny to begin with so I think the baby just didn't have anywhere to hid. It was pretty small and easy to hide under clothes though until about week 16 or 17 and that's when I started seeing a big change.

I was just about to jump in with the chart but knew you'd have it covered OP...I'm 21 wks and just starting to show. It's definitely bloat
Don't freak out the morning you wake up and the bump is gone. Oh God! Where's my baby!
It's bloat.
I popped at 17 weeks with DD. I thought I was showing at 14 weeks, but then I realized it was bloat. There is a big difference -- you'll know it when it happens.
Strangers didn't notice until I was probably 22-25 weeks.
I am 14w2d, my ticker is off and I am normally 5'3", 105. I have a nice combo of small bump and a lot of bloat going on. My bloat never went down. If I wear a belly band, everyhing rounds out and looks like a bump, so I am just going with it. I figure the bloat is because of the baby, so I consider it showing
Yep, this was my strategy too from beginning of 2nd tri. LOL.

Because it is bloat Your OB would more than likely agree. Your organs are pushed up a bit as your uterus grows, but not enough to make noticeable changes so early. Pregnancy bloat is a crazy thing, but I promise it will decrease and you will get a "real bump".
This topic always bugs me, as someone who looked PG and was in maternity clothes comparatively early in all three pregnancies! I don't care whether it's bloat or baby, if I look pregnant, I look pregnant! I never noticed any obvious change from bloat to baby bump (no disappearing "bloat" and then different bump). With the first baby I looked a little pregnant by 10 weeks and looked pregnant to others by about 12. Second baby, same thing but a little earlier. This time, I am almost 10 weeks and my clothes have gotten progressively tighter; I can't wear some of my pants and skirts. I will be into maternity soon. So I don't care what it is, I agree with whoever said they count bloat or baby as "showing," b/c it's evidence of pregnancy and hard to hide! I obviously look PG right now but am still trying to hide it at work. I already had someone ask when I was due (!) and have seen people looking at my belly lately.

This is pretty much the same for me as well. This will be my 3rd baby and at 9 weeks DH was noticing me when I was just standing there. We haven't told a lot of people so I'm sure people are just thinking I'm putting on weight which is sort of annoying but whatev.

I am 8 weeks and I can barely zip my pants let alone button them. I am having twins and I am a petite person. I know it isn't baby since they are about the size of a raspberry now. I also have a large frontal fibroid taking up space in there too. Either way, I can't wear a lot of things right now so to me it is all from being pregnant, bloat or not. Soon enough it will be a bonifide bump either way.
Re: when did you start to show?
Like PPs said, what you're experiencing is bloat. The bloat goes away- thank God!!!- and then there's the bump.
I love you, you are always ready with this chart and I love it!!
