Sweeping membranes?

So I have my appt this afternoon and was 3 cm 80% effaced -1 station as of last weeks appt. Is this something I should bring up to Dr or is it more reserved for around the 40 wk appt? Exactly what does it in tell, I was induced with DS #1 so never did have this done and am feeling a little clueless about it all. I just know I am ready for this LO right now.
