Hi ladies--
I've been lurking on and off during this pregnancy and have found SO much useful advice here. I'm 31 weeks pregnant with my DS#2. DS#1 will be around 20 months when he gets here. Of course, I'm fairly terrified, but still excited to meet this new little person I'm growing.
Here are my questions for anyone who has a chance to weigh in:
1. BJCS users--we have a BJCS for DS1, and are looking into what components would be useful for the addition of DS2. Any words of advice on the carseat adapter (for a Graco Snugride)? The bassinet? Second seat?
2. Other strollers--what's everyone using to keep in their car? Right now we use our BJCS for strolling around the neighborhood (we're lucky enough to be able to walk a lot of places), but would like a smaller one to keep in the car. Is there a stroller out there that DS1 could sit down and face out while still being able to snap a car seat into? At what age are toddlers ready to stand in a Sit-n-stand?
I think that's all for now. Thanks so much in advance for all your support and advice. It's great having this board as a resource!
Re: Intro and stroller specifics for 2u2 (~20 mo. apart)
We just bought the BJCS. FYI, you HAVE to buy the 2nd seat to use the car seat adapter since you have to use the 2nd seat kit to attach it. We didn't realize that, but luckily we bought the stroller, 2nd seat, and car seat adapter all at once.
They don't list all the car seats that are compatible with the adapter, but I called and verified mine was (Baby Trend). Their customer service seems to be great, there was zero wait time to get to someone and she was nice and helpful.
definitely the second seat and car seat adaptor.
We also got the glider board and use the city select as a single with DD riding on the back.
This. We have the glider board but haven't used it yet. We bought the second seat and used the adapter for DS's seat over the front wheels (not the car seat adapter). We bought everything all at once. We keep it in the car and if I need it for walks in the neighborhood, I take it out of the trunk. It goes back there after our walk. I also take the seat off (I did as a single too) and fold it flat, even with the carseat adapter it is still pretty flat. We also have a snugride.
