Cervidil and Cytotec are generally used to help soften your cervix and dilate you more. Then they often switch to pitocin if your labor doesn't get going on it's own or you are already dilated "enough"...whatever that means.
I have not been induced but BFF was induced today and it started with cervadil. Contractions started fairly quickly for her soon after. Epi was administered and then pitocin was used to dilate her quicker. Her induction went great!
If Lizzie doesn't make an appearance before Next Wed I am going to be induced starting with Cervidil. I was checked last week and today, still at 1cm 50% effaced... Tomorrow is my last day of work and I am really hoping LO decides to come out before the induction.... it was good to hear a positive story in this post though! Good luck to all of us!
