My blood pressure was super high (160/100) at the beginning of my appointment today. I've had some bad swelling in my feet the last couple days as well so the doctor was concerned. No other pre-e signs though (no headache, no blurred vision, no significant weight gain, no protein in my urine). They took my BP again at the end of my appointment and it was 148/74. Still high, but not totally up there for me. Since my BP went down, they just drew blood at the OBs office rather than sending me to the hospital, and I'll get results tomorrow.
So I'm taking it easy and ordered to not go to work tomorrow -- which I'm completely fine with. I've been wanting a day off, but not like this
Talking possibly "getting the baby out now" completely freaked me out. Ive had such a healthy pregnancy up until now, and I don't want LO to have to come out before he/she is ready. And I really want to avoid induction and stick to my natural birth plan. But of course I just want what's best for the baby.
Just wanted to share and feel sorry for myself for a minute.
Re: Bad 38 wk appointment :(
Im sorry you are having a tough time....BP is a VERY scary thing. I hope the time away from work and the weekend allow you the time to rest, get those feet up, and still give you the chance for the birth that you had planned.
Good Luck!
The same thing happened to me at my 39 week appointment and it completely freaked me out. Luckily, LO decided to come the next day on his own so we didn't need to induce. My high blood pressure actually continued after delivery, and finally went down 2 days ago and I feel SO much better.
Hoping everything works out for you to avoid induction, but like you said, whatever is best for baby. Hang in there!
