sudden pains in my breasts

I'm 34 weeks and for the past week I've had on and off sharp pains in my breasts. It doesn't last too long and it comes and goes. Is this normal?

    i remember having them the first time. Im not sure the exact cause but i always thought of it as you breasts getting ready to produce milk. You could probably look on Kellymom.com and see if they have any info. if its bothersome, call the doc.

    i had some sharp pain for the first time yesterday ..went away after a few minutes.

    I'm 34wks also & have had this happen to me the last week or two. Its very uncomfortable/painful, but like was already mentioned, I think it's just my breasts "gearing up" or so to speak.

    I've had the same on and off throughout this pregnancy (especially the left one) My dr told me its milk production and hormones that are causing it. I've found that going braless a couple of nights helped ease my pain
