Outside babay-- how's YH dong?

How s your h doing now that you he a baby?

Mine is really sweet, but he is not helpful at all. Sure, he'll change an occasional diaper, and he holds her for a few minutes at a time. But, I'm the only on who gets up with her at night. I do her laundry, change her clothes, bathe her, do 99% of he diapers... Etc. 

For those of you with H's like mine, what re you doing to keep them involved?

    My husband is LOVING fatherhood. He sings songs to her constantly, it melts my heart. I'm exclusively BFing and not pumping yet so I do tend to the baby more then him but he will change diapers, soothe her crying and bond with her on his own. If I need a break and I ask him to change a diaper, he jumps right to it. He is helpful but half the time I give lots of directives about what needs to be done (trying my darnedest to not sound nagging). He seems to understand, especially since I had a c-section and he knows I can't do too much yet. I honestly believe (in a sweeping generalization, of course) that men have a genetic inability to see dirt, dust, laundry anywhere outside the laundry basket, collections of socks next to their sides of the bed, open drawers and/or cabinets and dishes in the sink.

    That sucks, have you asked him to do (not that you should have to!)?

    I have to brag though my DH is amazing. He was with DD1 too. In the middle of the night he often takes DD after she nurses to change her and put her back to sleep while I get back in bed. He helps with cooking and cleaning (we are about 50/50 on that).  On the weekends and evenings he often takes DD1 to do things during a stretch where we know DD2 is going to sleep so I can sleep with her.

    My DH has been very helpful. I am BFing so I do spend more time with the baby, but he changes diapers and has also helped a TON with our toddler and doing stuff around the house.

    My DH has been great. He takes her from me as soon as he gets home from work. Whatever I ask him to do for the baby he does without hesitation. It's amazing to see him as a father. He's so completely in love with our little girl.

    Oh my, you are really doing a lot! My husband and I are scrambling around the house all day, I have no idea what I am going to do when he goes back to work.  One thing that helped, when I would tell him a few things in a row to do at once, he would always forget to do one of the things.  So whenever I need something done, we talk it over and I write him a list.

    Hopefully things improve for you!
