2 straight days, no afternoon nap

A trend no one wants to see continue.

She couldn't make it through the afternoon yesterday to bedtime so we put her down for about 30 min around 430. I think this is developmentally related b/c I feel like she could be walking soon.

We rock her for naps and she just isn't having any of it in the afternoon. Her morning nap is about 930-11 and that hasn't changed yet....she still needs to sleep between 930 and 10.

Anyone see this bump or are we heading for one nap later in the morning time already???

Re: 2 straight days, no afternoon nap

  • Ashur started skipping his afternoon nap few weeks back, and he hasn't taken one since. It was a bit rough at first, he got cranky  in the early evening. But it has since worked out for the best. He was fighting bedtime and often not falling asleep until 10 or later. Now he readily goes to sleep around 8 most nights, on the rest he fusses briefly and then falls asleep. We do miss the afternoon nap time when we can get a break, but the earlier bedtime is much better!

  • We are down to one nap a day, but it happened the opposite way - he started fighting his am nap and would be ready to go down around 1130 or 12 (he used to go down around 930 and again around 2).

  • DD refused her afternoon nap for a week, but we kept pushing it, and now she's back to two per day.  I wouldn't give up on it yet!  Give LO at least a week or two- it might just be a temporary thing.

  • we are at 1 nap - he refused his afternoon nap for 5 days in a row! so we moved his morning nap back to 11:30. Once we did that he started napping for 2 hours each day and we A_OK until bedtime.

BUT now he's refusing his 11:30 nap! In the last 3 days he's taken a 20 min nap a day, at 3:30 only because he fell asleep at the bottle . . .

I hope it's just a developmental stage - still sleeping great a night though so I guess I shouldn't complain right?
