Re: so sick of maternity clothes but what to do?

  • I am bringing my maternity roll top yoga pants (in black in case of bleeding) so I can decide if I want it over my incision or not in the size that I will be wearing when I go into to have the baby. Then I will bring my Old Navy maternity ribbed tank tops (they have a bunch of colors) and a light comfy jacket thingy to go over it in case I need it. I plan on wearing this the whole time I'm there and on the way home.

  • I'm in the same boat, although I don't plan on a c-section.  I hate my closet so much right now I want to cry each time I open it.  I feel like a dump everywhere I go, but I'm NOT buying anything else maternity.  I'll continue to wear my large moomoos until I can get back in to my normal clothing.  So it's stretch yoga pants and flowy tank tops that show my bra.
  • I'm planning to bring two outfits to the hospital -- my softest black leggings and a nursing tank and a soft cotton dress -- and will decide which to wear on that day. I can actually still wear quite a few of my pre-pregnancy clothes so I think I'll be fine for the first couple of weeks when we'll pretty much be at home. Then I'll probably shop for some new summer stuff in early July.

  • Im also hating my maternity clothes right now.  Im at the stage where things are starting to get tight and uncomfortable. I really wish I could be one of those pregnant celebs who have the amazing prego clothing.  You know what I mean, those cute dresses, tops that are adorable.  Instead......I have basic boring staples that I wear over and over again.  Ugh to maternity clothes!!!

  • I too have some maternity clothes that I am so sick of. They have become rather uncomfy. I have a pair of truly comfy sweat pants that I had from when I was pregnant with my son. I still wear them all the time and you cannot tell that they were ever maternity. I also have a pair of maternity yoga pants that are the same way, and can even wear them on a normal basis. I also found a pair of basic black cotton pants that you can tell that are, but you can easily hide that part by a long, or oversized shirt. They fit and feel like sweatpants but without the look of them. They are so super comfy and can't tell that they are maternity. What about the skirts? There are some that are adorable and not that bad on wearing. They should also give you the support needed. Good luck!

  • Ugh, I hate all of my maternity clothes, too! Well, I should specify that I am sick of wearing the 4 shirts that still fit me over and over! All of my shirts are one by one just getting too short and my belly shows. Luckily, I am a SAHM, so most days I just wear whatever and don't care, but the 4 shirts that I can actually wear in public are getting pretty pathetic. I have 5 weeks to go, so we'll see how many I have left that still fit by then. I absolutely do not want to buy anything else maternity!

  • I finally caved and bought a maternity dress at target that is also a nursing dress.  I figured this way I can at least wear it through the summer and justify the expense ($27).

Hang in there!  Any new lil jewelry you could splurge on instead?

  • I have a great idea for you! Tunics! Yes, paired with some leggings you will look adorable coming home. Both JCrew and Boden have some really cute tunics. You can also wear it later as a tunic or dress when you lose the baby weight.
  • I have been living in maxi dresses almost on a daily basis, and probably will do the same after baby. Extremely comfortable! I just have to go one size up while having a baby belly, then after baby I could probably get my normal size.
