AW: Crib arrived and FREE delivery

After battling with Munire and with USA baby for two and a half months, our crib has finally arrived. And the owner of the store said he felt bad for us with the bad service we've received. So, when the dresser gets here (supposedly sometime in the middle of December), they are going to deliver it to our house for FREE. Good thing too because I might have delivered by that point...either that or I'll be mighty close.

Anyway, DH is going to pick up the crib on Friday. I'm so excited!

  • I usually lurk, but must have missed the back story. What happened?

    We ordered a crib & dresser (6 drawer) from Munire, from a local store. It came in early - we were never told and we were picking it up. Picked it up, dresser had a broken drawer. Store calls Munire to replace it - they do...with a drawer manufactured in their other factory so it didn't fit. Store calls Munire again to replace it from the right factory....2nd replacement doesn't fit b/c the factory that it originally came from doesn't make all the drawers the same way. FINALLY, Munire agreed to replace the entire dresser - the store felt bad & covered deliver of the new one & pick-up of the broken one.

  • We ordered a crib and dresser from Munire in July -- told 8-12 weeks. It still isn't here. Yes, it is now 6 weeks late. And we're told it'll be in the next shipment, though they have no proof of that or info on exactly when the next shipment will arrive.

     
    I hate that company. I'm glad to hear both of you had negative experiences that turned positive, though!

     

  • Oh that's horrible what happened to you.

    When we ordered our Munire crib and dresser, it was back-ordered because supposedly the Espresso color from the Newport collection is the most popular. Anyway, they told us both would come in at the end of November. That was in early September when we ordered. So, we called a week ago to check up on it, and they said both were further delayed and won't be in until middle to late December. I was like WTH, I'm DUE in December!!

    DH gets pissed and calls the store himself, and they tell him that they don't deliver for free and they dont know why the salesperson placing his order said that delivery was included. Now we're even more frustrated. I called the other day and the salesperson said she was "too busy" to look up my order right away but that she'd call me back that afternoon. SIX hours later she hasn't called.

    I call the store to chew them out, and just by chance, the store owner answers the phone. He was very nice and apologetic. He said the crib had arrived on a truck shipment just that day and was at their warehouse across down. He said he could have it ready for us to pick up in 48hrs. He said the dresser was still delayed and that it was out of their hands but that he understood our frustration and he apologized for the salesperson misinforming us that delivery was free. So, he said when the dresser does come in, he will have it delivered to our house for free. DH still doesn't believe them but I'm pretty excited.
