Two positive tests and then a negative? Freaking out :(

in 1st Trimester

So yesterday after 3 weeks of sore boobs and the last four days of slight cramping but no period, I took a pregnancy test. Clear Blue Digital. Came back positive. Two hours later, convinced the first one was a fluke, I took another one, another positive. 

Luckily my OB/GYN is open late and I got a late appointment. Went in because I was very concerned about the cramping I was feeling. They took a test there at the office and it came back negative. The doctor then assured me that the tests in the doctors office are not as sensitive as the store bought ones (she specifically named the Clear Blue Digital). Also told me that cramping is totally normal as long as I'm not having bleeding like a period or cramps that are consistent and hurt enough to "make me cry."

She then ordered blood work that I went and got done today. Tomorrow I'll find out the test results via blood and if positive, schedule an appointment with my doctor for Friday.

So today, don't ask me what took over my curiosity, but I took another pregnancy test after work. Negative. Came out of the same box as yesterday.

I'm freaking out now. Wondering if I somehow had a chemical pregnancy? I'm not even spotting or cramping more than I have been the last couple of days. I'm wondering if I'm so early like the doctor said I was that it's iffy if I'll have enough HCG in my urine?

I know I just need to calm down and wait till the blood work comes back tomorrow, but I decided to give this site a try.

Anyone have any advice? Ever have a false negative after a few positives?

    I would try a pink dye test, blue ones are notorious for giving false results.

    I wouldn't worry. My clear blue easy digital read negative even after I had several positive first response tests and wondfos. When it is this early you are probably only able to turn a test with first morning urine reliably. See what they see in the blood, it should be higher in the blood then in the urine. GL!

    That helps to hear. I know I'm worrying irrationally! I guess it comes with the territory.

    Ooops sorry about that. I had two accounts at the Knot (one with my email and one with an email I shared with my fianc?) and my computer logged me into the other one by default.

    Ahh ok, just wanted to make sure it wasn't MUD or anything and waste my time sympathizing or answering.

     

    I hope all turns out well for you and I agree that it's possible for it to still be early and fmu is the only way to get a (+) now. I hope you get good news from your blood test tomorrow. GL

    I say if you got a positive on a digital, you're definitely pregnant!

    That's what I think too, but it was that last digital negative that's making me nervous! 

    This all seems surreal! Thanks for the positive posts :)

    This.  I work in a pregnancy resource center, and the tests we give are absolutely as sensitive as home tests and are pink dye.

    It is much more common to get a false negative than a false positive. You are probably just very early still. Also like PP said, if you tested later in the day your hcg levels might not have been as strong in your urine as if you'd taken it in the morning. I am sure your blood test will come back positive. Good luck and let us know what you find out!

    Just lurking on 1st tri but thought I'd tell you my story! I used First Response tests and all 3 came back positive. The next day at the doctor's office their EPT test came back negative... A week later, their EPT test came back positive!

    IF you got 2 positives, you are prob pregnant! i got negative pregnancy tests right up until the day i missed my period, took one and it was a BFP and im now almost 8weeks!! Stay positive and as long as AF doesnt come to town, theres lots and lots of hope! good luck

    I got two positives and a negative from the same cup of pee.  Test tomorrow with FMU.

    Welp, just got off the phone with my doctors office. Test came back with an HCG level of 24 so I have an appointment tomorrow :)

    Lurking because I miss being KU :-( I had numerous positives at home and 3 days later went to the doctor and test was negative. Home tests were right and now I have DD. The ones the doctor had just weren't as sensitive.
