Obsessing newbie here. I get ovulation cramps and I have been monitoring their occurance for the last several months. I usually get them CD12, 13 or 14 which would have meant today, tomorrow or Friday. We BD'd Saturday, Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday. Today we took a break. Tonight I finally got a positive OPK. Last time I had a positive OPK I got the cramps the next day (of course I have no idea if the cramps coincide with before, during or after ovulation). I did start having EWCM on Monday that seems to have ceased tonight
So my question is, assuming I ovulate tomorrow, was it a bad idea that we didn't BD today? Should we try again tomorrow? Does the OPK detect ovulation or just that ovulation is close? Thank you for your insights. I have TCOYF but I haven't had a chance to read it yet. Btw I am 39 and h is 37. I have LPD and a "High normal but acceptable" FSH. This is our second cycle trying for our first. Thanks!
Re: Did we stop too soon?
The +OPK detects rising LH, which means you are gearing up to ovulate--an OPK does not detect ovulation.
TTC since 10/2010
IUIs # 1-5 = BFFN
IVF # 1(July 2012) = BFN
IVF # 2 (November 2012) = BFP (MIssed MC D&C @ 8w3d on 1/10/13)
I've been told to BD, day of positive opk and the two days after. That being said i've always jumped the gun and BD several days before I get my actual positive. I think you should try to get one in this evening.
I've also heard the cramps don't mean all that much in terms of exactly when you ovulate, you can be crampy before, during and after so try not to read too much into it.
Good Luck!

I've been doing IUI so I've forgotten all about timing of BD-ing, (other than just for fun of course) so I'm of very little help on this topic
But based on the great advice from all of the PPs you should be good if you DTD tonight!
Good Luck!
