I took DD to the park tonight to burn off some energy. Another mom was there and we got to talking and she guessed W was 14 months, and I said no, she is 16 months. The mom said "Wow, she is really small!"
I think its funny when people make weird comments. I wonder do I do that too? What are some weird comments you have received about your LO?
Re: Funny comments
People always tell me JT looks big or older than he is but it doesn't really bother me.
I'm sure I say dumb things but I can't think of anything specific right now.
for p we consistently get two comments:
that he's a giant for his age (he is, he's in the 95th% & has only recently been on the charts, so i know he's big for 16 months) but everyone thinks he's older & then thinks there's something wrong with him when he doesnt act like a 3yr old.
the other is, people always tell us that he looks just like me (we have the same hair color), but my poor dh has to constantly hear "wow, he's all mommy"...umm, no, daddy was pretty darn involved in creating him as well
and for connor:
we're constantly correcting people when they call him a girl (even though he's dressed in all of p's boyish hand-me-downs?
and he's got really fine hair that sticks straight up so he gets a lot of comments on his crazy hair as well.
I have been asked at least 3 times if Emily and Aiden are twins.... They are 18 months, 10 lbs & 10 inches apart. I know I give those people the crazy eyes when they say that but really?
A couple weeks ago at TJMaxx, I just had Emily with me (wearing a silver glitter heart clip in her hair, a navy/white striped top with ruffles and a lime green bow and lime green capri pants) and a woman said
"OH my HE is soo adorable!"
I said "Thanks I think SHE is pretty cute"
"No really HE is just the cutest little BOY!"
"You are a pretty GIRL, aren't you EMILY?!?!"
"Yes HE really is cute" lady walks off, bahaha. It was the most bizarre conversation.
There is a 45 year old [single] woman with a 2 year old DS in our building. She looks a lot older and it's her only child. I thought it was her grand child too but never asked bc it's not abnormal to have kids later in NY. This lady really looked old though. My MIL's SIL found out at 48 that she was pregnant (surprise), and her older kids were 21 and 24...so when they are all out togther, people always assume, it's the grand child.
