My new addiction....

Coffee!

I used to drink coffee years ago but stopped. Since then, I'd have maybe one cup a year...

Well all that changed yesterday. I was so tired and all of a sudden I had the incredible and uncontrolable craving for coffe. So I took just a 1/3 cup. But it wasn't enough and I went back for more! And here I am today again. I couldn't wait to get to work and have my cup of coffee..

But doesn't caffeine dehydrate? i should be fine if I have a cup and then drink a lot and don't nurse/pump for 2 hrs after, right?

What is your "addiction"

Re: My new addiction....

  • I was never a coffee drinker. I made it through college and grad school without it but since I got married and especially now with DS I have to have my fix every morning!

  • I don't drink coffee. I am so sensitive to caffeine and I don't like the taste. I love cran-grape juice. My true addiction is popsicles. I eat them all year long.

  • Coffee is a MUST for this mama! I have a large cup in the morning and often a second, smaller cup in the afternoon. It doesn't seem to affect my DD or milk supply in the least, although I do try to drink at least 96 ounces of water per day.
  • I drink 2 cups of coffee every morning! It does dehydrate a little so just make sure to drink water throughout the day. And only 2% of the caffeine you take in goes into your breastmilk so I wouldn't worry about nursing. As bad as it sounds, sometimes I nurse and drink coffee at the same time!

I cannot get enough chocolate and sweets! I was more of a salty snack eater before I had the baby but now I can't get enough chocolate! And it doesn't seem to make LO gassy.

  • *Moan*  To be able to drink coffee again!  I can't have the caffeine.  Which eliminates my being able to drink Dr. Pepper as well.  Love that soda.  I would have to agree to a chocolate addiction.  Oh!  That reminds me of Ghirardelli's Intense Dark Espresso Escape chocolate.  I swear it was like sex in a wrapper.  If I could find it in stores I would ignore my imposed ban on chocolate.  I would have to say my new addiction would have to be salmon.  Delicious!

This is me, too! Never ate sweets before. Chips and popcorn was my thing. Now, it's all about chocolate. I LOVE Toblerone!! hmmmmm

This, almost exactly - I just have slightly less water. :)

Same. And I've gotten worse about going to the coffee shop to get it now, I just don't get my stuff in order fast enough to make it at home and the coffee shop improves my attitude about going to work...plus, they have a drive thru.  Embarrassed

Hallelujah, it's a miracle, I have children AND a signature!
