Sigh...another 12 weeker knows the sex

My friend just texted me today saying she was having a girl. She is only 12 weeks and had an ultrasound today. She was all excited wanting to go shopping. Confused

It was a vaginal u/s so I know they can see more but still, both boy and girl look so much alike at this time. I didn't have the heart to tell her differently.

Ooh, I hope she goes out and paints the room pink, buys all pink trimmed baby furniture and clothing. Then let's see how it goes when she has a later u/s. I know technology is getting better, but I wouldn't believe it until it was later, since at 12 weeks the sex is BARELY showing. Now if it had been an amnio....I hope for her sake the u/s is correct.

I have to wait almost twice as long...23 weeks...but I'm not bitter. LOL.

All I can say is at 20 weeks my u/s techs have been going back and forth. The first one said definitely girl, second said maybe boy parts, third said girl again. So here at almost 24 weeks I'm still being cautious about believing its a girl.

My son had a very obvious penis on his ultrasounds long before 20 weeks. I didn't know what I was looking at at 12 weeks but I'm not convinced that a trained professional with tons of hours doing U/S might not have a better idea.

14 weeks here; found out it's a boy. Luckily, it was confirmed at 16, 18, 20 and 22 weeks. Sooooo, at what point do I get to believe it? I assume there's something magical about 20?
