Ugh, That was interesting.

Just spent the past 2hrs trying to get LO down for her nap. She's been going down at 5pm for about 6-8wks now. I don't know what her effing problem is, but she is not buying what I am selling.

After 2hrs, of her throwing fits and me using up every bit of patience I just left her in her crib with the light off.. She immediately stood up, and started with her "UP UP UP"

... How long can I ignore her before it's just plain mean?

She's going to be such a joy tonight

And P.S she had her usual nap at 12pm, for approx. 1hr so I know this kid is exhausted.

We're in the same boat! DD has been awake since 11am. Right before 3, I put her in her crib. She played and played for almost an hour, then I went back in to lay her down. Of course, she had pooped, so I changed her, then laid her down. She started screaming. I told myself I'd give it 15 more minutes then let her come out if she was still awake. She fell asleep shortly after that. Now I'm hoping she doesn't sleep too long.

Glad you got yours to go down for a bit. I totally gave up, put mine in the high chair and turned on her DVD.

No point in fighting with her I guess... I know she'll probably be knocked out by 9 or so (instead of her usual 10pm) then probably be up by 1-2am because she thinks she's going down for a nap instead of for the night.

I wish H didn't have to work tonight.. I would just stay in bed and pretend to sleep through it lol.

I hope it was just a bad night for her, because I know you like your wack-a-doo late schedule lol... but if not she may be changing things up on you! Maybe she wants to go to bed at 7pm? Wink

We're in a nap change routine too! I never know what the hell is going down in her crib..lol.

She used to nap every morning for 45 minutes between 8-9. Then she'd have a 1.5 hourish nap between 12:30-2. Bed by 7ish. Like clockwork. Since birth. Not much of a napper my kid.

Now she'll have a 3 hour nap in the morning about 8ish then be up to party for the day with bed at 7. Then others she'll nap 3 hours in the afternoon and party until 9ish before bed. Then still others there's no nap at all.

I give it 15 minutes and then give up. Fighting it just makes us both exhausted..hopefully she works it out soon!

I actually laughed out loud when I read this. After you posted a while ago about the 2naps and we were still on 3 naps at that time, I weaned her down to 2 shortly after.. I'm seriously laughing as I type this @ you calling me out on our late schedule.. I've been putting her down at 10pm lately! That is not even that late. Lol.. Anyway is your LO still doing 2 naps now? I'm thinking what if she's going to do down to 1 nap on her own...

I seriously heart you Jmo. I am cracking up.

Ahh, so this is kind of what I'm thinking, that's she's getting ready to eliminate one of those naps. This is interesting.. It took me weeks to get her down to 2 naps per day, and I had to really work at it, so I was definitely not expecting her to make any changes on her own. This is the first time she flat out refused to nap on her own though, so it might just be a fluke.

There have been days that we were out all day and she ended up with just one nap-- the nights that happened were hell though, because like I mentioned I put her down for the night and she'll wake up 3-4hrs later thinking it's a nap and be wanting to party and sh.t

Maybe since this was her own little fluke... She'll sleep all night *fingers crossed*

Lol, yes he is on 2 naps, up around 7/7:30 naps around 10 & 2, bed by 7:30... wacky kid and his early bedtime, that's like mid-afternoon for you!

I feel like my kid has been in nap transition for weeks. He used to nap at 9 and 2 at daycare for an hourish each, then bedtime starts at 7.

Lately he's been skipping the afternoon nap sometimes. Sometimes he falls asleep in my lap again after daycare, whether or not he took both his naps. It's totally random at this point!

Good luck, I know how frustrating that can be!
