TTC after 35

Still here

It's been a week or two since my last post.  I need some advice, and hope you don't mind if I ask...

IF is expensive (obviously), and we're OOP for EVERYTHING.  We had a nice little nest egg saved up, but had some expenses come up, and so the savings is gone.  We're back to square one.

Sorry I'm having a small pity party tonight, tomorrow morning I'll get up and put my big girl panties on and deal with it.  I promise. :)

Tonight, I'd like to know how you all stay motivated when you are faced with obstacles (of all types, not just in the TTC sense).  Usually I like to tackle problems as soon as they pop up, but right now I'm feeling a little beat down.  Maybe a new strategy will work for me?

Re: Still here

  • IF is a super rough thing for a couple to go through and it's never something I thought I would find myself dealing with but here I am. Over two years and still not pregnant.

Some days are better than others and all you can do is take one day at a time. I like to make sure on the bad days that I do something a little extra nice for myself. That seems to soften the rough spots a little. Hang in there. I do wish I had more words of wisdom but feel free to vent away. This board is great for that and there are a great group of women with a wealth of knowledge that have helped me through some dark times. Hopefully tomorrow will look brighter for you. Good luck to you.

  • Staying motivated is so hard to do....I have good days and bad but the bad usually go by pretty fast.  Once I get over it (usually it is the CD1 that is the worst) I get back on the TTC horse and am able to keep positive seeing the graduates of this board move on to PG35.  They give me hope...

I hope you can find a way to keep going!

  • I allow myself to have a pity party every once in a while.  The wonderful women on this board save me from getting too down though.  When I think of how crappy my luck has been, I remember that so many ladies here have been through far worse & manage to keep going.  I wish there was a magic cure for the blues, but this sh*t is hard to go through sometimes!!!!  ((hugs))

  • I keep a quote posted in my office for motivation.

"Anyone can give up, it's the easiest thing in the world to do.  But to hold it together when everyone else would understand if you fell apart, that's true strength." Author unknown.

I saw it on here a long time ago.

  • I'll be using it as well.  It makes perfect sense, and is so fitting.  Thanks for passing it on.  :)
