Today my coworkers threw me a shower. They all pitched in and bought me a bunch of items off of my registry. I am so thankful, and was so excited over the items that they chose! Here is my problem.... I am so not good with words! I would like to write a thank you to the whole company, and really sincerely express my gratitude... But I am having trouble putting it into words. Help!
Also, I thought it would be appropriate to give an individual thank you to the person who put everything together, did the shopping ect. Is this proper ediquit? One thank you to everyone for the group gift and a separate for the one individual?
TIA!
Re: I'm pathetic, please help!
Thats really sweet! I think it would be appropriate to give thank you cards to those you know were specifically involved with the shower.
Maybe say something to the fact that you are blessed to work with such kind and thoughtful group of people. That you are overwhelmed with the generosity of everyone. That you look forward to them meeting your LO. These are just a few ideas, I'm sure there are more specific things you can think of that are related to support through your pregnancy and maybe some specifics to the gifts they got and how you can't wait to use ___ with your little one.
For my co-workers, 12 pitched in for a gift so I wrote them each a thank you.
But if it's a huge group of co-workers, I think one thank you is fine. I also think it's nice to write an individual note to the host of the shower.
Maybe say something like..
"Thank you so much for the wonderful baby shower. It was so wonderful to celebrate with all of you! Thank you for all of the generous gifts. I truly appreciate the (name specific items) and can't wait to use them when baby arrives! I know that baby will love everything just as much as I do. Thank you all for being so kind and thoughtful."
My coworkers threw me a shower and catered food from a restaurant. I got a lot of things off my registry, including the crib mattress. Even though I knew about the shower, I was surprised at the gifts and very appreciative. I wrote all my coworkers that pitched in financially, about 13 out of 15, a personal thank you card, including the men that pitched in. I also invited all of my lady coworkers to my family shower which was the weekend before my work one, and even though none of them came to my family shower they all got me gifts before the work one and dropped them off at my desk. So some women pitched in for my work shower and gave me another gift. I wrote each lady one thank you card expressing my thanks for gifts for both showers. I also wrote the owner and his wife a special thank you for the lunch.
Thanks everyone for the suggestions!
I am going to do one for the owner, one for the woman who put it all together, and one for everyone else... I feel bad but I don't know exactly who pitched in for the gift. Some people signed the card who weren't at the shower and some people at the shower didn't sign the card. There are about 25 - 30 people on our office. I don't want to leave anyone out or thank anyone who wouldn't know what I was talking about hahaha! Hopefully this will cover it all as I really appreciated their kindness!
