I started with oatmeal on Saturday. I didn't do the baby oatmeal, I just bought a big container of Quaker oats and ground them up. I gave her a little bit of banana tonight, which she seemed to really like. I don't think she really cared for the oatmeal, but I'll keep giving it to her with fruit. I picked up a sweet potato and an acorn squash that I plan to do this weekend. Hopefully I'll also start getting some pears or apples and then try avocado.
DD's been getting rice cereal in her bottle since 2 months for reflux issues so we went straight to purees. She tried prunes on Saturday, banana on Sunday, and tonight she tried peaches. I should probably add a vegetable soon.
Skipped the rice cereal, started with sweet potato, then avacado, then banana and just finished apple sauce. Plan on peas tomorrow. So far all food has been well liked
We started with oatmeal cereal per pedi recommendation for her reflux. Then we did peas, green beans, bananas, carrots, apples, squash, pears, sweet potato, peaches, and avocado was the last new thing she had. She liked everything except the avocado (I'm not sure if it was the taste or the texture since it wasn't what she was used to).
The next new thing she has will probably be yogurt but I'll see what the pedi says at her appt next week.

I have been giving DS rice cereal since four months, we had our six month appointment on Monday and the pedi said wen can start baby food so I started with green beans and so far DS seems to be loving it, next I will try bananas.
We tried avocado, then carrots, then bananas, he hated avocado liked carrots OK and the banana's made him constipated, as he is a preemie, our dr recommended trying cereal to get him pooping again which, as of this morning, seems to have worked. I am going to try peaches tomorrow.
Diagnosed with Anti little c antibodies. DS1 7.11.11 - Anaemia and Jaundice. 10 days in the NICU, 1 exchange transfusion and 4 blood transfusions. DS2 29.8.13 - Anaemia 7 days in the NICU and 1 exchange transfusion. Both are now happy and healthy.
We did all 3 cereals (rice, oatmeal, then barley). We also did peas, green beans, carrots and sweet potatoes - in that order. LO had tummy issues when we reached barley, so we scaled back to rice again and have been doing JUST rice while reintroducing veggies only. We did rice and peas and rice and green beans. So far, so good. Next will be rice and carrots. Working our way to fruits.
Oatmeal for a few days, then carrots (not a hit), then sweet potatoes (huge success)
Now I'm mixing a lot of things with sweet potatoes to get him to eat new foods. So sweet potato and broccoli, sweet potato and peas, sweet potato and carrots
Re: Solids: What did you start with?
1. Sweet potatoes 2. Pears 3. Carrots 4. Apples
I will mix in cereal for texture and iron.

I read in the purple baby superfoods book to give cooled, boiled water... is anyone doing this?
1. rice cereal, 2. bananas, 3. sweet potatoes, 4. pears (seem to be his favorite so far)
Going to try squash, green beans, and apples next (in that order).
We've done oatmeal, sweet potato, avocado, banana, and squash, in that order.
The only one he's totally rejected so far is the sweet potato, but the squash and avocados were big hits.
We didn't start anything until DS turned 6 months, so he's only had rice cereal. I'm not sure what is next. Maybe bananas or sweet potato.
