So DH became a US citizen in January. For a # of reasons I told him to file for OCI (Overseas Citizen of India) asap. Has he done it yet? Of course not! I swear to God...
We leave for a 2 week vacation to Iceland & France on Saturday (woot!). Of course he tells ILs he will be coming to India once we get back (he's a college prof & therefore has summers off) before informing me of this plan. He said he was afraid I'd yell @ him. What was he going to do, wait til the day of the flight & ask me for a ride to the airport? Um, yeah!
To be fair MIL has had bone cancer for 3 years but is stable. However, both my ILs are drama queens (I have soooo many stories) & DH really needs to grow a set & tell them to chill & that he has way too much other sh!t going on right now. SIL is 30, lives in the DC area, is single & makes double what DH does so why can't she go deal with them? Well, she hasn't talked to them in like 3 mos since she broke off her engagement with a shady guy they had arranged for her in depseration since she's *gasp* 30. Smart woman, I say.
Also, DH? Dude, we're doing IVF #2 in July! This has been the plan since IVF #1 failed in February. We need to wait til July so my flex med acct will refill with $. He assures me he will be back from India by then. They are doing property re-evals in June & he needs to help his dad who wants to make DH primary owner on his properties/lands for a # of reasons. Of course with him not having OCI yet I pointed out this will be more difficult as I don't know if he can legally be on the deeds without it. Why do I know more about Indian law than him?
But my question is since he didn't apply for OCI yet he would need to apply for a visa which is outsourced in the US. I looked @ the Indian embassy website for Paris since we'll be there for like a week to see if they have walk in service but saw nothing about it. Longshot, but does anyone have any experience with the Indian embassy in Paris?
Re: I'm experiencing homicidal ideation towards DH
After 5.5 years of loss, heartbreak, and empty arms, our dreams were fulfilled through the beautiful, selfless gift of adoption. We are amazingly blessed!
