Pregnant after a Loss

Cyst on ovary?

I was told at the doctor the other day that I had a pretty large cyst on my right ovary. Doctor said he wasn't concerned because it's common but he wants to scan me again at 10 weeks to check on it because it's pretty large. Anyone else have this? It kinda concerns me.

Re: Cyst on ovary?

  • I had cysts after my first loss.  They ended up going away on their own.  I wouldn't worry too much about it, it's pretty common.

I don't have one right now, but I've had PCOS for almost 10 years. Push comes to shove they pop the sucker themselves. It hurts like a biatch, but otherwise it's harmless.
  • I have a large one on my right ovary. My OB said just to let her know if I have severe pain or bleeding. I would have pain every once in a while, but it's eased up. She said the cyst will start to shrink between 10-12 weeks because that's when the placenta takes over and the hormones from the ovary are no longer needed. Cysts are very common in early pregnancy, no need to worry.

  • Yep, I had a large one on my left ovary that we saw at 6 weeks. It took about two weeks, but it went away on its own. I never had any pain or bleeding from it. I hope yours goes away soon!

All of this. Hopefully it resolves on it's own!

  • I had one last pregnancy that went away by second tri.

Yes, I was told the same thing at my first appt (around 6w). Didn't seem too concerned and will check on it again at my next appt. I saw a blurb about cysts in a pregnancy book and they said most take care of themselves by the 2nd trimester. Hopefully nothing to worry about!
