When I was measured today she said LO is measuring really big. I asked if it could be extra amniotic fluid, but since she can feel the baby's head and butt, she said "nope, he's just really big."
I asked at what point do they talk about induction. If I am "38 weeks" now and still have 4 weeks to go...I don't know if I CAN birth a 10+lb child. She said they won't even talk about inducing until week 39 and I will have to hold on until then. She went on to say if we get to week 39 and he's 9+lbs, the risk of shoulder distocia goes up and they'll offer a c-section.
Not really part of my plan. I'm glad he's healthy, but...
Re: measuring 38 weeks at 35.5
Well at least you are seeing the positives, he is healthy:)
Hang in there, you're almost there!:)
I'm measuring big as well. However, that can change too.
At 34 weeks I measured 41 weeks. At 35 weeks I measured 38 weeks. I have another appt tomorrow and we will see what I measure then. However, I did have a growth ultrasound so I know I'm carrying a big baby either way.
Whoa! That is intense! I heard that it is really hard for them to accurately estimate the baby's true weight and that they are often off by 2 lbs in either direction-- hopefully this is the case here.
Super glad he is healthy- are you going for weekly exams now? Will you get more news next week?
Yep, weekly exams now. And if I can make it through one more week of work, I can park my behind and rest until this big LO arrives.
