Love my midwife!!! and other happy rants.

So I'm with a group practice of OBs and CNMs. I've had appointments with nurses, an OB, and I finally got to meet one of my midwives yesterday. I love this woman! I'm a FTM and everyone was telling me to get a midwife (well aside from DH, he wants an OB). I can now see why. She was so sweet and kind and personable. She made me feel completely comfortable, was casual enough to be friendly, but professional enough to garner respect. I'm really looking forward to working with her and her colleagues over the next few months. I just had to gush. I'm excited. Oh, and I might be able to get my insurance to pay for a doula!!! HOLY CRAP! And since I'm on the topic, everything was great baby-wise at the appointment yesterday. I've only gained 2 1/2 lbs in the last 4 weeks, but my midwife said to not worry, some months you'll gain more than others. DS's heartbeat is strong and loud. It's so cool to hear it! I'm still kinda fascinated by that. I never thought I'd love going to the doctor so much!
