I HATE HATE HATE them. They always leak. What do I do wrong?I spend minutes try to align the tube with the nipple ring and I still manage to soak DD at each feeding. And I have about 10 bottles.
What do you all use?Do you like it?Thanks!

I knew they would be a pain to clean, so we never tried them. We use Born Free and while there are a few parts, they are easy to clean, and DS has always done well with them.

I've had them leak just a few times. I found if I unscrewed the top and pulled the inside up and then put it back in, it didn't leak after that. Also, make sure you don't overfill it.

Where are they leaking from? We used them with ds and they never leaked per se, but the fluid does come out if you turn it upside down through the hole in the nipple, and the Avent ones don't do that.

I used Dr. Browns for my DD almost 6 years ago and now for my DS and I have never had them leak, ever. How strange. I have heard people say that if you fill them past the fill line that they will leak.

Sorry, but I'm willing to bet that it's a user error and not the bottle If you put in 8 oz of water and then add formula, you are technically overfilling the bottle and it will leak. Also, you have to use the blue air valve and tan topper in the bottle. If you leave them out (probably so you don't have to wash all of the parts) then it will leak all over. I doubt you have 10 defective bottles lol.
I have about 8 Dr. Brown's and my mom (keeps LO while I work) has 9 at her house. We have never had this problem. I will admit I did watch a youtube video on using them before we first started feeding her from them though to make sure I was doing it right!
Hmm, that's strange. That is all we use and have not had them leak on us. I guess just make sure the rubber piece is pushed down all the way on the blue thingy (sorry for my lack of terms). LOL Good Luck!!

I've used Dr Brows with both of my boys and can't rave enough about them. BUT since that's not your question, I also use Lansinoh Momma bottles. Love them, too. My LO is EBF and he took to them with no problem. They are kinda pricey and hard to find. I've gotten mine at Target and offline.
I have 4 Dr. Brown's bottles and half the time, they leak on me too. I feel like I do everything right -- putting them together correctly, and I never put more that 6 oz. in them. My favorite right now are the Avent wides. They are so easy to clean. I also have a bunch of Playtex Ventaires that are good, but they give me problems when I'm trying to heat a bottle. I like to run a glass of hot water from my Keurig and put the bottle in, but the Ventaire bottoms will leak when you use water this hot.
I heard lots of annoying things about those bottles so I never bothered trying them. We use Born Free and, while cleaning all the parts is annoying, they have worked great. I also have a few Avent ones that works great.

Is that a leak? Because the Dr. Brown's bottle is fully-vented it allows positive-pressure flow, similar to breastfeeding. This is essential for the baby to feed without having to suck against a vacuum. Under certain conditions the breastmilk or formula can exit through the vent. For example if the liquid is overheated the expanding air inside the bottle pushes the liquid through the vent causing leakage. Or if the bottle is shaken to mix formula, which we do not recommend, the liquid may enter the vent.
When liquid gets into the venting system, it can sometimes leak out around the nipple collar. This can happen three ways:
If you heat your bottle with the nipple collar securely in place, the liquid will be forced up into the vent as it expands. To avoid this, either heat the bottle without the nipple collar or loosen the nipple collar one-half turn after heating to allow the pressure to equalize. Then, re-tighten it before feeding.
If you use powdered formula and mix it by shaking the bottle, liquid can get into the vent. The solution for this is to mix the formula by stirring it with a spoon rather than by shaking.
If you overheat the liquid in the bottle, the vapor will rise and condense in the vent. To prevent this, avoid warming the liquid beyond body temperature.
we've been using Dr Browns since she was 3 weeks old and the only time we had a leaking problem was when DH forgot to put the blue/tan piece in.
Are you screwing the cap on tight enough? are you sure it's leaking and not the baby not swallowing everything?
I spend 0 seconds aligning things. I put the blue/tan piece in, put the nipple in the collar (and pull it up to make sure it's all the way in) and then screw the nipple onto the bottle.

I've only had Dr. Brown bottles leak on me twice. Once when I forgot to put the vent inside and another time when I heated the bottle up too hot and didn't open it/take the top off to let it cool.

This has been my experience as well. I have the 4oz and 8oz bottles and the only time I have had leaks is when I didn't have the top screwed on tight enough or if I had overfilled one of the 4oz bottles.

I never overfill them.I use the 8oz bottle to give LO 4.5oz breast milk because I did not even want to be close to the fill line.
I'm going to watch that youtube video!
