Trouble Sleeping at night

My daughter is 10 months old. From the beginning she slept through the night 6 hour stretches. For the past month she has been going up in the middle for the night. By this point her diaper has already been changed, she has been feed, so she should be good to go back to sleep. Any ideas on her to get her to go back to sleep? She is either wide awake or falls asleep in our arms and when we put her down wakes up crying or screaming again. We thought at first another tooth might be coming through but it has been a couple weeks now.

Any ideas? Or how do you get your little one to go back to sleep in the middle of the night?

So have you just recently started feeding her again in the MOTN? How long was she sleeping consecutively up until recently? There is a sleep regression I have read about that can happen around 8/9/10 months, but if she was not eating previously and is eating fine during the day, I would hesitate to start night feedings again, unless you think it's a growth spurt (there is supposed to be one around 9 months). I also would not be changing her in the MOTN unless she pooped, that is just too much stimulation, which may be waking her up even more. Have you tried soothing her back to sleep in the crib without picking her up? Does she take a paci? I would not pick her up, but that's just me, but I have also done CIO, not sure if that's your thing or not. Perhaps if she is just awake initially but not crying, I'd just leave her. She could just be reaching some milestone that is disrupting her sleep, or teething like you suggested. Not sure if this was of any help, sorry!

  • So is she crying awake or just awake? I swear my LO wakes about every hour all night. She squeals when she rolls over, I hear her talking to herself etc. I dont' get her/care/do anything about it until she cries. Even with crying I wait ten minutes. 99% of the time she falls back asleep on her own.

Mine wakes up for a 3am bottle, but I don't care. She's a good sleeper otherwise and goes to bed at 7ish...lol..so I do think she's hungry. She also takes her bottle and back to bed. However, if I change her or look at her she's overstimulated and then it's a bit harder.
