What ate your kids fav songs

Mine honestly know very little real songs, DS used to love Bon Jovi's Bounce and the new fav is Miley Cyrus' Party in the USA.  DS likes a few Justin Robert songs but those are kid songs and he liked Bare Naked Ladies "One Week". I need ideas, my music tastes are not normally upbeat and they are outdated, my fav band is Third Eye Blind. What do your kids like?

  • She likes anything from Raffi to Bob Marley to Katy Perry.  Her favorite to sing is "I'm sixty and I know it" :)

We listen to Kids Bop and Toddler radio on Pandora.

  • My kids listen to Raffi in the car and LOVE him. I grew up on Raffi too so I think that's pretty neat. My littlest loves fresh beat band but I have yet to buy a CD. She hears it on the tv.

  • DD loves Laurie Berkner if we're listening to "kids" music.  If we're hanging out at home and cleaning up or playing, we'll sometimes put the Laurie Berkner channel on Pandora and I've gotten some good song suggestions from there.  Barenaked Ladies and They Might Be Giants both have great kids albums that I also really enjoy.  She listened to a Linkin Park song with DH the other day and now she likes them because "she likes parks" lol.
  • I guess this makes me mom of the year, but we usually listen to one of several 'pop' stations on xm.  His current fav songs are Moves Like Jagger, Drive By, 1000 Years, Tonight is the Night, We Are Young...etc.  There are certainly some songs I turn off though. Honestly he talks so damn much that I don't know how he even has a chance to learn the songs.

In the car with his Grandmas he listens to some nursery rhyme CDs.

  • Ds2 loves country music. He doesn't really know any songs but he always wants me to turn it to country. Dh despises country ( he calls mena hick when i listen) so I think it's great.

  • My kids' favorite songs are probably not that appropriate for kids songs haha.  Party Rock - LMFAO and Pumped Up Kicks.  I gave DS a bowl of Kix for breakfast once and he stared at it for a few seconds and then asked me if they were "pumped up Kix." hahaha.  They pretty much listen to whatever we listen to and they know most of the top 40's hits.

For music without words, they like Galactic (funk/electronic jazz group) and some classical music.

  • We have a lot of Raffi and Sesame Street songs. I have also downloaded a lot of kids movie soundtracks - if she likes the movie, I'll generally get at least a few songs from the soundtrack.

  • DS is currently obsessed with the Muppets movie soundtrack.

  • My older two love the Pop music station also.  Party Rocker is one of DS1's favorite and DD loves anything by Katy Perry.

  • DDs love Jack Johnson, Michael Franti, Jason Mraz, Adele, Florence & The Machine, the Beatles, some Neil Diamond, Laurie Berkner, TMBG, Donovan Frankenreiter, and goofy stuff from their music classes. I missed the boat on Raffi- need to give him a try...
  • We listen to a pop/top 40 station in the car but there are definitely some songs I will turn off like "Sexy and I Know It" and pretty much any and everything Katy Perry or Rihanna. You know, the songs that are overtly sexual and that would embarass me if he were to sing them in public. When those songs come on we usually switch over to Kids Bop or my Beatles cd. He LOVES "Eight Days a Week" and "Yellow Submarine". When he was younger, his favorite song was "Sex on Fire"  by Kings of Leon. It was my ringtone for my husband. DS still calls it the "Fire Song" and I told him the words were "Your socks are on fire." He's old enough now though to figure out the real words so we avoid playing it when he's around.
