I have been feeling the baby for just a little over a week now - just light bubbles/popping feeling. Lately the kicks have been coming more frequently. Tonight I was laying on my back and felt it again, but a bit stronger than I normally feel it. I put my hand down and felt a couple little bumps - just like light tapping. I want to describe it sort of like a "pulse" - it happened twice and they were a couple seconds apart. I'm 17 weeks right now (1st pregnancy)....I feel like it must be too early for me to have felt it from the outside! Actually, I feel like everything is happening so early! Everyone thinks that I'm showing quite a bit for how far along I am, and lots of my friends think I felt the baby inside quite early too. Has anyone else felt the baby from the outside this early?
Re: Feeling baby from outside?
I kept thinking that I was feeling it from the outside starting at 16 weeks. But my husband couldn't feel anything, even when I could. He didn't feel our LO move until I was 21 or 22 weeks. But, it will get stronger and stronger in the weeks to come. This is my first too and it's really exciting to feel him getting stronger and bigger
Sorry about the incomplete post above. My iPhone just posted it randomly as I was still typing then wouldn't let me edit.
What I was saying is: FTDs don't always know what they are feeling for so what they think is a muscle spasm or your pulse getting stronger could be kicks.
I have felt the baby from the inside at 16 weeks and outside at 17 weeks. Yesterday at my dr.'s appointment I was measuring high/big - I'm already at my belly button. The baby also kicked when we were listening to the doppler, I felt it, my dr. felt it, and we heard the kick. We were also unable to get a clear heartbeat reading...it was going from 130-155, the baby would not hold still.
So, she does suspect I may be a little further along than I originally thought. Which I think is impossible, so maybe we just have a fast implanter and grower.
