troubles at bedtime

We sleep trained DS at 7 months, since then we've been able to put him down drowsy but awake.  All of a suddent the past two nights he has been fighting us at bedtime.  He screams his head off for 20 minutes before tiring himself out and going to sleep.  Anyone else experience something like this after LO having no problems going to bed for 4 months?  Not sure what is going on!

Re: troubles at bedtime

  • Could it be separation anxiety?

  • No clue how to help but we have been having the same problem only she will scream like someone is trying to kill her for up to 2 hours before finally falling asleep. For the past 3 days she has also gotten up 2 hours earlier than normal and I don't know what to do. She was always such a great sleeper until last week.

Sorry I have no ideas to help just wanted to say I am in the same boat. One think I know for us is its not separation anxiety because we are in a studio so its all the same room.

I dont know about sleep, but I know that for separation anxiety when going to work it is recommended to have a routine so the baby starts to associate your routine with your going to work and returning later. Ash has had a lot of trouble with me going to work, starting a few months ago. I make sure to kiss him, say good bye and wave on my way out, and it has gotten better.

Do you have a bedtime routine? Maybe it will help.

  • DD always gets like this when she is teething (even when I don't realize it) Could that be the issue?
