Diapers Galore!

I just realized that I have 766 diapers in the nursery and they have all been free!!!!  My awesome FIL works for Kimberly Clark "Huggies" and has been getting free diapers for us since January.  They are all newborn or 8-14lb. diapers and I have no idea how many we will really use in the first few months...  Anyone else stockpiling diapers or wipes?    I guess we all get to look forward to changing millions of diapers really soon!

    Sounds like you're set for those first couple months. My stockpile isn't as large as yours, nor were any of them free, but I have a couple hundred for the beginning months!

    lol mines probly just as big if not bigger and different sizes yet. did a game at my shower telling people to bring diapers of any sizes for a chance to win a prize. i worked out great not only did everyone bring one pack bu many brought numerous packs.

    Wow that's a lot of diapers! That's great that they were free! 

    I don't have a big stockpile. I got a box of 500 wipes and 2 boxes of diapers. I figure we can always run out and get more.

    We're cloth diapering but we have our entire stash bought. I spent all day yesterday prepping them all and they are now neatly put away waiting to be used :)

    How many & what type/kind did you get?

    I'm planning on doing CDs too, but I'm also buying sposies for the NB stage while I get used to the CDs & until he's big enough to fit into the OS diapers. 

    I didn't want to buy many NB sized CDs. I know they say you can sell them, but knowing me.. It'll take forever before I get around to it.

    We plan on CD the next baby too so we invested in NB dipes as well.  This is my entire stash for the NB stage:

    When he grows out of the NB stage we have the following:

    2 Kawaii OS 1 w/snaps, 1 w/apix

    I will probably invest in a couple more fitteds when he gets bigger...just waiting for a sale to happen on them.  I was given a ton of pampers wipes so I'm going to use those up and will only switch to cloth wipes if baby's butt doesn't like the pampers ones.

    But ya that's my entire stash! lol I've been collecting stuff for months though.  I bought 75% of my stash at consignment sales, on clearance or seconds sales on cotton babies and swaddlebees.com.  I also got 4 free dipes from Kelly's Closet.

    That's alotta diapers!!

    I have four packages of Huggies for newborns-2 in the nursery, 1 in the car and 1 in the linen closet.  When we're done we'll use cloth diapers.  I have 18 small gDiaper shells and lots of cloth liners.  We have about 20 disposable liners as well-I got them all off eBay.  I'll get the medium and large sizes as Baby grows, but I wanted to make sure I liked the brand first!  We're using regular wipes-I like the idea of fabric wipes, but I'm just not there yet-maybe after I get the cloth diapers down.

    I hope Huggies work for your LO ;) 

    You'll go through 10-12 diapers a day for the first month. So figure about half of your stash will be used then. Crazy huh?

    We are doing cloth for this baby, I always did sposies first and then got them into one size CDs but I wasted a ton of money on sposies and couldve bought a stash that wouldve saved us a ton over the years.

    I have about 40 nb diapers and they are ready to go!

    I have about 4 large cases of wipes. And about 2000 diapers in sizes up to 3. We played that game also at the shower and made out like bandits. Plus ive had several diaper cakes etc.

    That's a nice benefit of his job.  From DH's job, I can get all the free rat and mouse traps I want : - ).

    My guess is that you probably have enough Newborn and 1s.  If you figure 6-10 diapers per day, that supply would last you about 3 months.  Most babies are ready to move up to 2s at around that age.   Tell him to start snagging the next couple of sizes.

    That's great! I've been getting a lot free diapers at yard sales. I just got 100 free newborn diapers yesterday and that's prob all I need for newborn size. I also got a ton of size 1 & 2 yesterday for free. They are all different brands. I'm hoping to never have to pay for a diaper. Lol

    We are also cloth diapering (3rd time doing this).

    I have 3 dozen NB prefolds and 8 NB covers. Then I have 3 dozen infant prefolds and 6 small covers. As well as 24 cloth wash cloth wipes.
