Doctor's Appointment Got Scary...

When carrying identical twins, you're pregnancy gets high-risk. Well, my OB/GYN decided that my due date was too late. My estimated due date was June 12th, but she said it should be June 4th. I was fine with this, then she did the ultrasound and said, have you been feeling any movement lately? Well, I had, the boys practically run a schedule, and she said, because I think you might have lost one. I stared her straight in the eye and said, why do you think that? She says, I see one heartbeat. Wait, there's the other one! After three minutes of me and my fiance just staring her down, me almost in tears. I know she should tell us these things, but I wish she would have waited until she positively could not see the other heartbeat, not just say it then correct herself...

    Well sorry about the bad experience, but glad everything is ok. I guess even docs forget their filters sometimes. Hmm

    Why would she say she THINKS anything??  That's something you better be 110% sure of before opening your mouth.  I'm so sorry she scared you but happy to hear they're both doing well.  Not gonna lie, I'd have a hard time believing things she says in the future.

    Geez, that is a terrible experience, so scary!  So sorry you had to go through that.  Thank goodness everything is OK :)

     

    Baby Birthday Ticker Ticker~ Diagnosed with PCOS in March 2009. Taking Metfomin for insulin resistance and irregular cycles/ovulation. Had healthy baby girl in Jan 2010 via C-Section (HTN and Breech Presentation).
    ~ Miscarry at 8 weeks with D&C in May 2011 (low progesterone).
    ~ Had a healthy baby girl in June 2012 via C-Section (on prometrium to sustain).
    ~ Surprise pregnancy at age 40!  Baby boy due April 26, 2021 (took prometrium to sustain once pregnancy was confirmed, 3rd C-Section planned).

    Wow.  This literally made me gasp loud enough that DH thought my water had broken!!!  Unbelievable.  But, on a positive note, glad to hear that your little ones are healthy!  Geesh.

    I should have punched her, you're right! But wow, I was just so scared, I mean, I'm on bedrest, I'm eating all natural foods, got my strep test, and was doing fine! My fiance and I decided we're going to a different doctor because I honestly do not know what to do with this one, nor do I want anything to do with her anymore. Thank you all for your amazing support, it means so much to me!

    Oh my word. I would be so angry. I'd probably switch doctors. That is not something you just throw out there like that! I'm glad everything is okay.

    Unbelievable. How someone can just say that without even pausing to make sure they're absolutely certain before opening their mouth beyond me. When she corrected herself, I'd have seriously told her "I think you had better leave this room, because I think I'm going to go ape sh-t on you now." Did she even freaking apologize?  Eff that, I wouldn't even accept an apology from her after that mess.

    Omg; I freaked at my last appointment because my OBs face dropped mid convo and got very serious while she was listening to the HB. I could hear it and it sounded like it always does but I thought she heard something wrong! I layed there for what seemed like forever before she finally turned to me and smiled and said, "yep, sounds good!" THAT freaked me out but I would have probably been hauled off to jail for assault after what happened to you. What an idiot!

    That is not okay, she should have made 100% sure that she couldn't find a heartbeat before she even mentioned anything to you. I'm sorry that she worried you like that. Very unprofessional if you ask me.
