Tylenol?

Hi Ladies,

Not sure if this topic was touched and I missed it but I wanted to ask about administering Tylenol before shots?

Any input on this?

    The newest research suggests that doing this lowers the immune response to the vaccine so it is no longer recommended to do it.  Plus your baby might not need any Tylenol at all so why drug them if they don't need it.  My kids have rarely needed Tylenol after vaccines.  Some kids need it, some don't need it, some only need it sometimes after shots.  I wait and see if the shots are bothering them first before giving them Tylenol, why make their liver process it if nothing is bothering them?

    I only give it after, and that's only when (not if for DS, but when lol), he gets fussy and cranky.

    I have been giving Tylenol to DS after his shots, all three times he has spiked a fever of at least 100.2.

    I agree with pp about the new info on pregiving it. DD wasnt concerned at all about shots. DS was miserable hours later with leg pain.
