It's a phase--DD did the same thing the first few times we put her in the grass. She wouldn't crawl. She'd just sit there, reach out to me and whine/cry. Just keep at it...:) Now she's a grass maniac, crawling around in it! Oh, and even still, DD much prefers short grass to longer grass.
My first DS hated the grass for quite a while. He would stand in one spot and not move... this went on for a while. DS 2 could care less about the grass. It's a phase, just keep trying
Saoirse doesn't seem to mind grass, but I remember my nephew hating it when he was a baby. My sister used to joke that it was the only way she could get him to sit still in one spot because he never wanted to touch it and was frozen in place. He eventually got over it. It was a new sensory experience and he just wasn't too sure about it at first.
DS doesn't really care for it, but he'll crawl across it to get to us sometimes. Right now I'm just enjoying the fact that I can put him on a blanket and he'll mostly stay there. I am curious to see what he'll do with sand (I'm guessing it is a texture thing)

I can't wait for the "im getting a divorce" post in 5 years or so because your husbands were fed up with your disgusting chair asses from playing on the knot all day and getting fired 4-5 times for not doing any work. you guys are all winners!! ~ Laur929
Thanks Ladies! I will keep trying. I just feel bad because she looks like a cat avoiding water when I try to put her down. Its funny to watch her crawl to the edge of a blanket and scream the minute her hand touches grass.
Our DD hated grass the first couple times, but now she loves crawling around outside. For her, the hating grass phase lasted just a couple days. But now that she realizes she can pull grass, we are constantly trying to keep it out of her mouth!
Talon doesn't scream when we put him in it but he kind of curls his feet up and pats it unsurely with his hand. It's a good thing because he currently does refuse to crawl in it.

I have heard of babies hating grass, I think it might be a sensory thing, something new/different too. I'm sure it'll pass as long as you keep trying.
That being said, mine love/d the grass. Nick continues to try and eat the grass. At least you dont have to worry about her eating it!
