I know some people were having issues finding anything other than huge tubs of plain full fat yogurt or yo baby. You may want to check your local farmers market. I never even thought about it but alas, I found whole milk yogurt with the fruit already added to it and no additives/sugars at one of the vendors. I was pretty excited so I thought I'd share.
Now if I could just get her to eat more than a spoon of it :-)
Re: FYI regarding yogurt-
Oh, great idea!
Will she drink out of any kind of cup yet? Evelyn loves smoothies.
Since Maya is all about feeding herself right now, I am having a hard time getting her to eat yogurt off a spoon anymore. Now I spoon little blobs onto a plate and stick it in the freezer. I use a rubber spatula to knock them off the plate and Maya loves picking up the frozen yogurt and eating it. They melt fast though so I only put a few down in front of her at a time. Her favorite ones are the ones with real fruit chunks, but I can use up some of her purees too. Yesterday I mixed peach puree and cut up strawberry chunks into her yogurt. I got her to eat a spoonful and then froze the rest into blobs.
This may work for you guys as well!
Thanks! That's a great idea!
I haven't tried smoothies yet, but I definitely need to. Ty doesn't like his yogurt, but maybe he'll be like me and like it in smoothies?!
Different brands also have different textures. My kids prefer Nancy's plain to Straus plain. The Straus is runnier and a bit more sour than Nancy's. They'll eat the Nancy's plain whole milk organic yogurt on its own, but I have to mix in a fruit puree to get them to eat more than a bite of the Straus.
Of course the Straus Blueberry Pomegranate is the favorite, though!
