Bug spray

What are you using/going to use for bug spray? I'm kind of already stressing about this. I know our pedi said it was ok for the boys to use DEET, but DEET like aspartame scares me for some reason lol. I know there are other things like citronella, but are those as effective/ "safe"

I'm neurotic about bug spray already because both boys have already had ticks. I wasn't as shocked with Tim because he moves and runs around in the yard/plays in leaves etc, but I was really surprised with Nick. And they both picked them up in the backyard

My other question is bug spray safe to use everyday or is only for sporadic use?

We normally have to use it everyday.  We are outside a lot and gnats are awful around here.  We use a DEET free kind.  I got it at Wal-Mart in the camping section (I can't remember the exact name).

I know I asked on here before and they suggested you can also use Listerine and water to deter bugs, but ticks are another story.  (They make me a nervous wreck too!)  GL!

    My pedi said:

"Just get the family kind. Don't bother with the natural stuff. It doesn't work".

Mosquitos are our main issue here. Maybe "natural" sprays work better on certain kinds of bugs but I would rather go with my pedi and minimize the bites he's going to get.

Thats how I feel "natural" stuff doesnt work  too well. Mosquitoes and ticks are biggest threat here.
