Trouble TTC

Update on breast biopsy

I wanted to just let everyone know what happened at my doctor's appointment yesterday.

I DO NOT have breast cancer!  Big Smile I do have a abnormal cell growth called Pseudoangiomatous stromal hyperplasia (PASH).  They do want to surgically remove more tissue near the biopsy area, but we don't have to hold up starting fertility treatment.  The general surgeon i met with also went thru fertility treatment and said she understood wanting to start this cycle as planned and was okay with that.  She said even best case scenario that IUI works the first cycle, she is okay with waiting to do the surgery after my pregnancy.  The dr said at this time is it a "handful of abnormal cells remaining after the biopsy" and although they will continue to grow, even with fertility treatment it will be at a slow rate.  She said she will continue to monitor me should i become pregnant sooner than later and all will be okay.

I discussed it with my husband and if cycle 1 is a bust, I'm just going to go ahead and get it done.  If our first cycle wasn't right in our face right now, i might just do it, but i realize the odds of cycle 1 working are small and i just want to get a cycle under our belt.  I know that probably might sound weird to others, just how we feel.

Since i got the all clear to start treatment, I went in to RE this morning to get ultrasound and blood work done.  I got my RX for clomid (50mg) which i will start Thursday night.  I got my HCG & Progesterone perscriptions last night. With our current game plan, i am expecting to actually do IUI approx next weekend!!

I'm so unbelievably excited that i don't feel like a black cloud is hanging over me.  Although i still need surgery, i think it could have been worse and I'm thankful it wasn't.  I'm excited that we are officially taking steps I feel are productive in TTC.

THANK YOU to ALL OF YOU for all your words of comfort, kindness and prayers!  I am so thankful I found this board and have all of you to lean on for support!!!

~Jen
