I *think* remember seeing a post awhile back that listed questions to ask your baby's potential pediatrician. I tried to search for it and didn't see it. Anyone have a list of Qs that they asked their pediatrician that I can borrow? Going on hospital tour and pediatrician interviews this weekend!!
Re: Qs to ask pediatrician?
I guess if you plan to delay vaccinations, you might want to check that they're okay with that. Some peds will not accept patients if they won't follow the routine shot schedule.
Others are concerned about having their ped round in the hospital on their baby. It doesn't bother me to use the in house doc then follow up with my FP
Hours of availability (ie evening and weekend clinic hours are nice since then you can avoid the headaches of the ER or urgent care)
I think in general, its more for you to see if you can mesh with their personality. Since I'm using my FP to care for my baby, didn't really need to do an interview with her.
I got this from babycenter.com and plan to look at it to help me figure out what to ask.

Thanks!
I met with a pediatrician yesterday and I asked her the following questions:
1. Who should get the pertussis vaccine? - She said Grandparents should definitely get it if they're around your baby a lot.
2. Does she think circumcision is necessary?
3. Hep B vaccine - should we do it at birth or delay until his 1st check up - She said if he's healthy to do it at birth. But if he's fussy or not eating good it's ok to delay it.
4. I just had her go through the immunization schedule.
