Last night when I went to the bathroom before getting in bed I was bleeding...bright red. DH took me to the ER...bloodwork and ultrasound both looked good and he said my cervix was alright (can they do that completely by feel?). The only positive of last night was I got to see the baby who is SO much bigger than my NT scan at 10w6d. Hb was 159. U/s tech kept saying he but insisted she couldn't tell the sex yet. And it turns out she did two IVFs OOP and is a point where she doesn't know what to do.
This morning I am still crampy and there's red blood when I wipe but so far none in the toilet or on my pad. And I did find the hb on my doppler this morning. The ER OB didn't say I had any restrictions today, just sent me home with the paperwork for "threatened miscarriage" and told me to call my OB this morning. I am going into work because I have an IEP this morning and will call the office when it opens- if they want me to come in right away i'm sure my principal will understand.
I'm just scared. Any positive thoughts, prayers, and vibes appreciated.

Id say that's a crude assessment of ur cervix. I have mine measured a lot bc of my leep, and they use Transvag u/s. perhaps have ur Ob do one. Praying for the bleeding to stop!!!

Forced break due to DH getting spinal surgery in August 2011
IVF - January 2012: BFN
FET in April 2012 - BFP at 6dp5dt! Beta #1 at 9dp5dt: 82.5, Beta #2 at 12dp5dt: 352 Beta #3 at 19dp5dt: 6000, saw heartbeat and one little bean at 5W6D!
After nearly 3 years of waiting our LO was born December 18th 2012!
I'm so sorry you had a rough night - you must've been very scared. I'm sending tons of positive thoughts your way that everything is okay. Fortunately, it sounds like the HB is still really strong and the baby looks good.

They did do transvag - didn't realize they were checking cervix too. Once I saw baby was healthy I tried to relax.
Blleeding is a lot less, almost gone. Hb is strong on Doppler. Just trying to take it easy. Seeing an ob at 2:30 (of course mines not in office today)

Severe MFI. Me: supposedly all clear but eggs showed vacuoles.
IVF #1 January 2012, ER Jan 14th: 34R, 27M, 23F. Day 3: 18 embies still strong. Day 5: zero "good," one "fair," the rest "poor." Transferred 3. None made it to blast or to freeze. Jan 28: BFN.
Lucky IVF #2: Transferred two beautiful day three embies on St. Patrick's Day. BFP on HPT 7dp3dt. Beta 1 (14dpER)=106; Beta 2 (16dpER)=140; Beta 3 (19dpER)=264! First u/s 4.17.

So glad everything seems to be okay, and your LO definitely has a good HB going in there, which is great! Take it easy this morning. I hope you were able to go home after your IEP!!! Bleeding is so dang scary, and I wish none of us had to deal with it! Hang in there!!!

It's been a long journey. TTC since 9/06. multiple IUI's and IVF's and 4 m/c's. IVF#3 = BFP, twins, induced at 34w6d due to baby b passing away (no explanation). Delivered on 35w1d, Baby A - baby girl, and Baby B - baby boy, our little angel.

Sorry sweetie - Bleeding is so so scary and hate that some many of us have to deal with it after everything else!
To answer your question though, no they cannot acurately tell what is going on with your cervix by a physical exam. They can only really tell if it is open or not and just because you are not dialating does not mean it is not effacing or shortening.
I am hoping this was just a SCH that bled itself out. Lots of T & Ps and ((hugs))!! (I hate that they call this a "threatened abortion.")
