1. What did you do to celebrate the big New Year? I had a few friends over and so did my brother. Nothing too terribly exciting, but it was fun anyway
2. Did you buy into any of the Y2K stuff? Nope. But my dad did. I swear we still have some of the canned goods he stored in the basement. A friend had to leave our party early because her parents were convinced it was the end of the world and they wanted their family together.
3. Other than hoarding canned goods for the demise of technology, what were you up to? It was half of a good year, half of a bad year. I graduated from high school, swam in states finals, and had a super fun time until it was fall and time to go to college. I hated every second of it and basically cried for the entire first semester.
4. Were you old enough to vote in the presidential election? If so, did you? I missed it by 11 days. I was not a happy camper, I had so badly wanted to vote!
5. Did you watch the Olympics? Favorite Olympic sport/event? I was obsessed. I obviously watched a lot of swimming. Sometimes I watched the gymnastics just for funsies.

went to my boyfriend's house. He was my first "real" boyfriend - who I actually went on dates with because he could drive!!
2. Did you buy into any of the Y2K stuff?
No. But I remember talking to my best friend on the phone that day, and she was kinda freaked out about it. She wanted me to know that if the world ended, she loved me. lol
3. Other than hoarding canned goods for the demise of technology, what were you up to?
cheerleading, hanging out with friends, enjoying 10th grade
4. Were you old enough to vote in the presidential election? If so, did you?
Nope. I got REALLY sick of my mom watching coverage on Fox News.
5. Did you watch the Olympics? Favorite Olympic sport/event?
Not as I remember... I was more of a fan of the Winter olympics for the figure skating. I liked gymnastics in the summer games too, but I don't remember watching them that year.Jess & Adam, married 2009, precious Audrey born in 2011. BFP 1/6/13, 6-wk MMC discovered at 9 wks 2/11/13. D&C 2/18/13, second D&C 4/23/13 for retained placenta.
BFP 8/24/13!! EDD 5/1/14, delivered healthy and sweet Zoey Leanne on 5/5/14 by repeat c-section.

1. What did you do to celebrate the big New Year? My BF (not DH) and I went to the Rose Bowl Parade. We camped out the night before. I remember I wanted to have sex and he didn't, so I was pissy that night.

3. Other than hoarding canned goods for the demise of technology, what were you up to? Soph/junior in college. That was the year DH and I started dating. I took him to a sorority formal, and that was that.

5. Did you watch the Olympics? Favorite Olympic sport/event? I'm fairly sure I did. No favorite.

1. What did you do to celebrate the big New Year? We were a bunch of wild teens, so we bought copious amounts of alcohol and pot and rented a hotel room for the night.

3. Other than hoarding canned goods for the demise of technology, what were you up to? Pretty much smoking a lot of pot around that time.

Nothing- was never into celebrating New Years

I remember we just got some sort of software to install on the computer to supposedly protect from the "Y2K bug"

Had my Bat Mitzvah that year

Nope

I didn't watch it but we had some sort of assignment related to the Olympics for Math class- not sure how1. What did you do to celebrate the big New Year? - I don't even remember. Probably not much, I don't generally get into the New Year thing and I was only 18 at the time anyway. Whatever high schoolers do for New Year's, that's what I was doing.
2. Did you buy into any of the Y2K stuff? - A tiny little bit. I get scared easily.
3. Other than hoarding canned goods for the demise of technology, what were you up to? - I graduated HIgh School in June and then kept right on working. Booooring!
4. Were you old enough to vote in the presidential election? If so, did you? I was old enough, but did not vote.
5. Did you watch the Olympics? Favorite Olympic sport/event? I probably watched something, but I don't remember. Apparently 12 years ago exceeds my memory capabilities.
