Baby Showers

Fall decorations/pumpkins

My sister is hosting my shower at the end of August and we had the idea for a "little pumpkin" shower.  Will this be too early for fall decorations?

IMO yes.  In August I am still going to the pool, experiencing upper 90's, and dying from the humidity.

  • Just my opinion, but I think it would be too early. In August, I'm still in summer mode, and seeing fall decor would depress me lol.

  • I would wait at least until September.  Then you could get away with it...even though it is still a bit early for me.

I guess i'm in the minority here but I think it would be fine. You could even incorporate some of your fall decorations as prizes for your guests. I think it's a cute idea!

  • Okay I LOVE that idea. I think it's really cute,

However, I think it depends on where you live. I live in Memphis and in August, it's still very much summer here. I mean, temperatures are still in the 80s and 90s. So I think it would feel a bit out of place. But if you lived somewhere where it started cooling down in August, it could be okay. Is there any way the shower could be in September? B/c like I said, I think it's a really cute idea.

  • I went to a summer wedding shower once that had all fall decorations- i think because it was going to be a fall wedding- and it struck me as odd, but not that big a deal. I think that will be the reaction of your guests. They will be surprised, but not offended.

  • IMO, yes.

But it depends on where you live. My friend lives in Nova Scotia and that would be fine for her.

I live in SC and no way does that make even the slightest bit of sense for anyone here.

Can you push it back to say, mid-Sept? (I don't remember if you have a ticker)
