OMG, I could scream!
I love my daycare. Everyone is so nice there...from the teachers to the staff, but today they pissed me off. Since DS started there, they have said NOTHING to me about his eating habits unless I asked. Twice, I asked how he was doing and they said that he still seems a little hungry after the bottle. Twice, I increased the amount in his bottle by a half ounce. I told them that he really needs to be fed in a more upright position when I picked him up early once and noticed the floater (part time teach not specifically assigned to the room) was feeding him while he was laying on the floor, and that he needs to be fed slowly to mimic breastfeeding.
Fast forward to today. They were holding an event for moms to have breakfast with the kids. I couldn't go because of work, but my mother went in my place (despite it being kind of pointless for the kiddos this young). She said that by the time that she was leaving he started to get a little fussy. The teachers told her that he wasn't scheduled to have a bottle for another half hour and they couldn't give him one earlier because I don't send enough for them to go off schedule. I was sending 4 4oz bottles, but I was always bringing home an extra. So, I began sending 3 4 oz bottles because, with no one saying/doing otherwise, that seemed to get him through the day. Ugh! I am so frustrated right now!
Thanks for letting me vent!
Re: Daycare vent
Wow, that sounds very unprofessional. I have worked in many places and we always have to fill out a form everyday recording the child's eating, sleeping, and diapering for the day. There is a place for comments such as "was fussy today" or "was still hungry after bottle". We would call parents if their child seemed hungry to allow them to bring more, or give us permission to give them formula.
Maybe ask them if they can fill out a form like this for you:

Yeah I get a daily "report card" of when DS eats, sleeps, pees/poops. I'm disturbed that they were feeding your son while he was lying on the floor - who feeds a baby like that??
Oh how frustrating! (I'm Christina, by the way, pleased to meet you )
Perhaps you can put in writing that you want to be kept in the loop about everything that happens with DS, and specify what you would like to know.
I worked at a daycare once that had a written log of everything that happened with each baby.
Guess it might be best to bring extra, and tell them that if he wants more, let him have more.
Good luck
ALL of this. I love getting DD's report card because I can see a definite pattern. Plus it helps me figure out when she needs to eat again.
I'd ask for something like that. I thought it was common practice.
