Mine was a doozy.
DH never actually said "Happy Mother's Day," no gift or any gesture from him. In fact, he was gone most of the day since he's the musical director for this school's theater program and they had a show yesterday.
My mom was originally planning on coming in to town, but my grandfather was hospitalized last week (on my birthday) so she stayed near him. He ended up passing away yesterday, which pretty much ruined any hope that it would be a good day for anyone.
I had to be the one to tell my sister, who literally had a nervous breakdown on the phone. She came over to my house and asked that I keep DS up a little later than normal so she could spend some time with him. I obliged, but he was already in a foul mood, so bedtime was a hot mess.
This entire month has sucked, hard core. Can't wait for June.
Can we serve drinks at this pity party? Big ones?
Re: Well, if we're having pity parties...

I'm an equal opportunity drinker. That makes me sounds like an alcoholic, but I rarely have more than one adult beverage a week.
Thanks!
i'm so sorry you had a rough month. but i feel you on the MD director thing. DH is directing his elementary school show which opens this week and then another show that opens in 2 weeks. i too am a theater widow for a bit
thankfully he didn't have rehearsal or a show yesterday.
