Extreme hunger and review of today's eats... Copied from 3rd tri board

Extreme hunger?I am not quite yet to my 3rd tri but I thought it made more sense to post here.. Today i have been extremely hungry. I had bfast a 6:30 and i have not been able to go more than 2 hours between snacks (meals) all day. Maybe I am missing something so I thought I would post what I have had to eat to see if I am low on something and if you guys think I should make any changes?? 1) 2 hard boiled eggs, 2 high protein tortillas2) south beach snak bar (wasn't expecting to be hungry so had to have something from my purse)3) 2 slices Ezekiel toast with hummus, 1/2 small avacado, small apple4) small serving 2 pcnt cottage cheese, serving of kashi cereal, sip of no sugar added almond milk5) one high protein tortilla with 1 T pb and 10 crushed almonds mixed in  I am 27 weeks on Wednesday and I am wondering if this is somethingi should expect in the third trimester or if this is just "random" and part of pregnancy?? Any recommendations or thoughts? Should I expect to be this hungry for the 3rd tri? I should add that I did go on a 30 min jog right after my eggs and went on a walk with my dog for 30 min after the cottage cheese....Thanks :)

Replace some of your grain-based carbs with fruits and veggies.

Bread, pasta, and other grain products make you hungry much faster than protein. The eggs are a good start to the day, but how about some meat/fish for lunch? (If you aren't vegetarian, of course.)

Thanks..that's good advice. I was a vegetarian for 15 years and I usually only have chicken or fish with dinner.. But maybe I should bring it into lunch too. I really appreciate your 2 cents..thank you!

  • that doesn't seem like a lot of food to me.  I think you would stay satisfied longer if you had some more protein in there. I had "extreme hunger" my entire pregnancy.  It started within a couple weeks of getting pregnant.  but i didn't get a bfp until i was 5 weeks pregnant...i thought i had a tape worm.  I would get up 2-3 times in the middle of the night to snack.  I literally had 2 of every meal which equals 6 meals a day and 1 midnight snack.  It would take 2 bowls of oatmeal to fill me up for breakfast and then it would only last 1/2 hour until I had to eat my 2nd breakfast. An hour later I would have 7 tacos, 2 hours later 2nd lunch.  2 hours later I would have a full dinner and then 3 hours later I would have a sandwich with fruit.  Like clockwork every night at 4am I would wake up and eat about 6 crackers.  It got OLD fast and I'm not in a hurry to do that again
