I have a gnarly scar from my section because of complications involving a completely incompetent doctor. Because it makes me sad to look at, FI suggested I get DSs tiny premature footprint on my hip to remind me why its there. I love the idea, but am worried that with my next LO, they may have to cut into it?

Re: repeat Csection and hip tattoo
You can totally get your scar fixed if you have a RCS some day. I had female surgery that resulted in the same scar as a c/s before i had kids, and it was a big ugly keloid. During my c/s with DD1, they injected medicine into the incision so that it healed better. It was better, but not as good as it could be, so they injected even more in the incision with my c/s for DD2. The scar I have now is much better, but the dr is going to try to make it even better when I have my c/s for DD3.
ETA: Forgot to mention that I have a tattoo on one hip that has remained untouched during the c/s, and I even have a small one on the side of my groin that they have managed not to cut into.
I agree with the pp about getting your scar fixed.
I had an incision near my belly button from a surgery that healed thick and red. I had another surgery in October where my DR used the same incision point and fix it afterward. It looks 90% flat and normal now.
~after 34 cycles we finally got our 2nd little bundle of joy~

I have a tattoo almost the entire space of my lower stomach. My c-section scar runs from almost to from my belly button to my pubic area and it cut right through my tattoo. I had a great doc who took extra time to match up my incision so it didn't look weird and I am hoping with my RCS that this doc will do the same. I still love my tattoo and I love the scar bc that's where my baby came from.
I also have a hip tattoo and I think the foot print idea is great.
BTW-My tats got stretched out during the pregnancy but looked fine afterwards.
