We got a pack n play at our shower because we were thinking of using it as a bassinet in our bedroom at first. I have since changed my mind and ordered a cradle because the bassinet part seems very enclosed and I got all panicky about SIDS, much to the chagrin of my husband.
I am wondering if I should keep it for the future or just return it. We don't travel much so the portability aspect doesn't do much for me. How much did you ladies use your pack n plays at home and when does LO outgrow it?
Re: PnP question for STMs
I LOOOOOOVE my PnP!! I did use it for both of our DD's, while they stayed in our room as infants...they slept through the night and went to their cribs by 7 1/2 weeks. They continued to nap in it during the day, as it was set up in the downstairs and it was easier than running up/down the stairs.
We have brought it on vacation, sleepovers at the Grandparents, and have set it up MANY times for friends with small children, when they come to visit....it takes less than a minute to pop open.
We will be setting it up again this week, in prep. for our little man joining us!
Hope this helps!!
I bought one second hand from someone in my mom's group. 95% of the time it was used for confinement and naps while I worked at clients' houses because we got it long after she was too big for the bassinet insert.
Mine did not come with that little napper part, just the inset part that hangs below the top and uses the full mattress pad. Does yours not have that? We will be using that in our room for the first few weeks (in our old house the crib was in our room for a year due to space constrictions).
