So many of us ladies seem a little let down over their mother's day experince. I would love to hear beautiful romantic mothers day stories in here about what your LO (if you have older kids), SO or DH did.
That way the rest of us ladies can gush and live vicariously through you.
Spill em ladies !
Re: No pitty parties inside
I got to sleep until 930 and when I woke up, MH was cleaning the kitchen and then made breakfast. And then did all the cleaning again. He had made me a photo book, which I got earlier in the week and thought that was all I was getting. He also got me 3 mom necklaces and 3 pearl necklace/bracelet/earring sets. He said he could not decide which he liked more, so he got them all, "1 from each child I grew". Then when J went down for a nap, MH made me a bath and then went out to do the yard work. Dogs were in the kennel, baby asleep, hubby outside... I was completely alone. It was nice. We went shopping for a while in the afternoon. I got a new pair of shoes. He made chicken fajitas for dinner, and cleaned up. And he did 3 loads of laundry including CDs.
At one point, he apologized if my "mom day was kinda lame." I told him it was great and I couldn't be happier. It was nice to be spoiled a bit.
DD and DH sent me flowers and chocolates which arrived at the shore (we were there through sunday morning). DH went shopping for DD's birthday party with me too. Then he surprised me wither reservations to my favorite restaurant for dinner. the next morning he told me to open the glove compartment and there were two more beautiful cards from him and DD. He then gave me 1.5 hours off to get my nails and eyebrows done. Finally he came to my family dinner and then cleaned up around the house while i chilled on the couch,.
it was wonderful

Our IL's had a camping spot for the weekend so we spent the night in the trailer on Sat. night. Bay woke the entire trailer up at about 7 in the morning yelling from her PNP "mama, nana, mama, dada. papa!" LOL! So we had coffee and I gave Bay her bottle while SIL (she doesnt have kids yet) made us breakfast! SIL and DH did all the clean up.
After breakfast we went outside and crafted some decorations for Bay's birthday party on the picnic bench. My FIL took Bay for a walk and played with her while we were busy crafting!
DH BBQed chicken for a chicken taco dinner. SIL made rice and beans. It was so yummy! DH and SIL cleaned up from dinner as well! MIL and I sat with a glass of wine and played with Bay. While we were playing Bay decided she no longer needed my hand to help her walk. She let go and took off walking all on her own! This made my Mothers Day!
We opend gifts and had desert. My IL's gave me new wine glasses (which I desparately needed) with a beautiful 1st Mothers Day card. My SIL gave me an adorable 1st Mothers Day card. And DH and Bay had my wedding ring re-sized and cleaned. I havent worn my wedding ring since Dec. of 2010 due to my pregnancy swelling!
All in all it was a perfect day!

Well, since you asked!
My husband saved a necklace that broke 6 years ago that I really liked. It was a cheap thing, so it wasn't worth fixing but I liked the style and shape. He brought that to the artist who made our wedding rings, my baptismal cross, and other family jewelry. So they designed a necklace based on the broken one that has the gem kunzite in it, which is gem that is believed to open the heart to love. It's beautiful and he's good.
Yes, I have a blog and it's hilarious (except when it's not)
My awesome DH spliced together and edited the 6+ hours of video we have taken during my 1st year of motherhood down to a 1.5 hour movie of Joey's 1st year. I can't imagine how much work it took to create, and I absolutely love it. We watched it Saturday night after J and I returned from a full day with my parents and grandparents, and reminisced about all the memories.
We spent Sunday hanging out as a family, which is my favorite thing to do. In the morning, the 3 of us went hiking in a beautiful local park. I got to take a nap when we got back. We stopped by a couple parties that neighbors were having, played in the baby pool with J, ordered Thai for dinner, and ended the night with a giant bowl of ice cream.
It was perfect.
I had a great weekend; it was also our 6th wedding anniversary. Got to spend it at the beach, with a slushy beverage and DH going above and beyond in the I?ll take care of Bell department!! DH had a beautiful emerald placed in the necklace he got me for our first anniversary (actually Bell broke the chain earlier in the month so I had no idea he was modifying it) that with flowers and a card were all so thoughtful?though truth be told the fact that I didn?t have to share my mother?s day made it all so special!! Just a nice weekend away the three of us

DH took Hayden shopping with him and bought this watch that I have been wanting for months... They then presented my gifts to me yesterday. He and Hayden wrote a poem from her and then he gave me the sweetest card and poured his heart out in it about how he has loved seeing me as a mother. They cooked me brunch after church and we just hung out as a family.
He also had flowers delivered to my office AND he is flying my mom in on Thursday to watch Hayden while we fly to an undisclosed location for a long weekend away!
Best Moms day yet!!!
HM got me a canvas print of D's newborn picture and a really pretty, simple, pearl necklace :-)
I got a card with beautiful words written about how appreciated I am and how wonderful I'm doing with our little man. And I also got a box of my favorite Fannie Mae candy and a day of pampering - mani/pedi, massage, and hair cut/highlight. It was perfect!
ETA - and he made my favorite meal for me, rubbed my legs (sciatic pain is horrible) and was going to serve breakfast in bed but I got up at 6:15 and he was in the middle of cooking.
Yeah to all the creatively romantic DH/SO!!!!! You ladies had a wonderfulday! Happy belated mother's day to you all.
I got The Vera in Limes Up as my present. Yay! I told him I wanted it, lol, and gave him my favorite patterns. Limes Up was what he chose from my list. It's my new diaper bag and I love it! Much more CD friendly than my old one.
DH took care of me the whole day too. He made me breakfast. If I asked him to do something, he did so without hesitation. Overall, just extra sweet.
We went for lunch with our parents and just hung out other than that.
Nothing over the top, but just perfect overall!
DH suprised me and bought me an Envoy Denali
We had talked about getting an SUV with another one on the way, but I wasn't expecting so soon! He was also VERY helpful all day long, and we even took a little nap together after an all you can eat buffet. He made this pregnant lady very happy!

MH and my mom both made cards with LO (without knowing the other one was doing it). My mom had her scribble with crayons and MH made handprints.
On Mothers' Day, we went out for breakfast and MH did all the work with Sylvia. MH and I hung out while she took her first nap, which was really nice, since we almost never get time to ourselves (we have been working opposite shifts). Then we went to a festival in a nearby park. For dinner, we had his mom over and he grilled. I also made us a cake (I really like to bake). It was exactly what I wanted to do.
My present was a trip to the salon today- I got my hair cut and dyed while my mom watched Sylvia.
MH was ridiculously sweet about the whole thing and I basically had a perfect weekend!
ETA: My MIL (who I don't always get along with) gave me a beautiful mother/child pendent that she had received for her first Mother's Day. She said I can then pass it on to Sylvia. It was extremely thoughtful and the necklace is beautiful!
DH did a great job.
He let me sleep in, went and got me a chai from our local coffee shop, then made me breakfast. Then we all went on a walk together, and then had lunch, and then he watched DD while I went shopping for new clothes (I had a gift card from my birthday in August and havent' gotten to use it yet!). Then he made me my favorite meal for dinner. We don't do gifts on these holidays, but he made me a super sweet card. I felt very special.
Now I have to figure out how to make Father's Day special for him!
We stayed on the boat this weekend. DH got up with DS and brought him into our cabin bearing a card with two chocolaty hand prints inside. DH used nutella to make them and licked DS's hands clean. DS played like a puppy while DH made breaky for DS and me. I fed DS and put him to bed (two hours after waking) and DH and I had our breakfast. Then he cleaned up the dishes, put things away DS woke up and we cast off to take a sail. DS went down halfway through the sail and I was able to sail the boat for a while.
When we got back to the dock, we packed up and went off to a birthday party.
