? about NT results- high HCG

Hi Ladies.  I hope everyone had a great Mother's Day!

I had my NT scan on Friday, and am very happy with my results for the most part.  My risk of DS is 1 in 2,761 and risk for Trisomy 18/13 is 1 in >10,000.  I know I'm not supposed to look at each individual number, but I can't help it.  NT was 1.9 mm, PAPP-A was 1.17 MoM, and a nasal bone was present.  What worries me is my high hCG of 2.64 Mom, which is the 95th percentile.  I'm not worried about DS, or tri 13 or 18.  But does anyone know if this high hCG puts me at risk for other things?  Dr. Google has me a little anxious.  I will call my dr. tomorrow to ask him.  Any thoughts from you ladies?

Re: ? about NT results- high HCG

  • I have no idea, but i think you have to trust ur dr.  That's why i never looked at any of the individual results.  I was thrilled with my risk ratios, and left it at that.

I think you have to call ur ob and ask.

  • High free beta hCG in and of itself is not bad.  It's only 'bad' when it's combined with low PAPP-A.  Your numbers are great!  My hCG with my first was 2.42 MoM and he is perfectly healthy.
