Has anyone flown with it successfully? We're going to Disneyland in a few months and am afraid to take it with us because of all the stories I've read about it getting trashed by the handlers? Think the bag is a necessity?
I don't have the city select - but I always gate check our stroller rather than down at baggage claim , so it goes in a diff part of the plane and is waiting on the tarrmack when we get off the plane - we've never had a problem !
We didn't take our CS to seattle last summer but we took our maclarens. I would definitely get a bag for it and gate check it. Our maclarens survived jsut fine.
I wouldn't do it. I gate checked my Maclaren and they had given me the wrong tag and it ended up checked somehow. Totally broken and nobody cared. Plus, I would be afraid someone would take it at Disney! I am a freak like that.

Ya know, now that I think about it, I would probably worry the whole time that people would try to snatch it.

I really woulnd't worry about this. Anytime we've flown with a stroller, dh is always having to wait on the gangway for the stroller to be brought up. Also if disneyland is anything like disney world (we go to disney world 2-3 times a year), you will have to leave your stroller outside most rides in stroller parking. We always take our city select or double BOB and have never had issues. Really I've never heard of anyone having issues with strollers in the stroller parking outside rides at DW.
I wouldnt worry about someone stealing it at disney. I have seen bugaboos, bobs, you name it and nothing happens. Many times there are staff members nearby to organzie the strollers as the ride gets full.

If it doesn't fit they will check it by hand and wand it. We had to do this with our britax marathons b/c they wouldn't fit through the scanners. I've seen double bobs get gate checked and I know those don't fit through scanners.
Re: Traveling with City Select
my first reaction is dont do it. we always gate check and I have lost pieces of my stroller or had damage. I bbrought my city mini instead.
Can you rent strollers? or bring one cheap single and then rent when you get there a double?
I wouldnt do it. too much money is in that stroller.
