Is this your first mother's day? As a mother yes, as a mom no.
What did you do today? Got LO up because daddy was a butt and stayed in bed. Made clay molds of her hands and feet. Went to lunch, Went and watched the avengers.
High point? Knowing that I could really say it was my day for the first time instead of feeling like a fraud.
Low point? A toss up between getting my own breakfast, the roses that the older kids got me coming from their friends dad instead of DH and the probably three different conversations about our current lack of sex life. I'm tired, can't really figure out what he expects.
Best piece of advice or lesson learned from your mom? As she loves to put it, 'being an azzhole is easy, but being a b!tch takes style. A good one knows when to be one and how to be one with a smile on her face'.

What did you do today? Had my mom, sisters, BIL, neice and great uncle over to hang out. It was beyond beautiful outside today so we were outside with the kids all day.
High point? When my mom opened her gifts from the girls. I made her footprint butterflies on 4"x4" canvases. She loved them.
Low point? Cleaning to get ready for everyone to come over. I had to get the patio umbrella out of the shed and I met a few spiders...no fun.
Best piece of advice or lesson learned from your mom? The 2 most important things I learned from her are independence and that it is okay to ask for help. She was a single mom who worked her butt off to support my 2 sisters and I, but was still always there for us.
**Go to my little sister's high school dance performance, then go to village in.
High point?
**Very end of the night, cuddling with DH.
Low point?
***99% of it... it was terrible. Worst day I've had in a while. I was stressed and hurried. I hadn't gotten my mother a gift because up until my bday which was just the other day, I had no money... my plan was to buy a pretty frame and put in a big photo of her and Layla together. A card and flowers too... but woke up late and had no time. Won the daughter of the year award on mother's day... way to go me. Then, Layla fell off the bed while I was trying to get ready... thank god she didn't fall all the way, just got stuck between her co-sleeper but it still scared the crap outta me, cried a little, will not be leaving her on the bed anymore. Way to go me, also won the mom of the year award on mother's day. Then she cried through most of the show. Village in with mom and grandma went awful. I managed to annoy my own mother, not on purpose, and then everyone left in a bad mood because we were all annoyed with each other. Went home, slept for 4 hours out of shame and depression and then woke up at 9:30pm...

*** She did always tell me not to care so much about what other's think and I think it helped in terms outside of my own family and close friends.
What did you do today? DH made breakfast, then went plant shopping, went for a walk, dinner at my parents and dessert at my grandma's
High point? DH and DS made me a stepping stone with DS's footprints on it, so cute!
Low point? I ate to much. LOL
Best piece of advice or lesson learned from your mom? She taught me how to cook and always made it a point to have family dinner. This is where we really talked about our day and could be a family!
What did you do today? Went to Target to get cards for mom and MIL. Went to church with my mom, took DD to the park so I could spend sometime with her before MIL came over and hogged her. Had all of DH's family over for dinner.
High point? Taking DD to the park, she loved playing in the grass over looking the lake, and putting her in a swing for the first time, she thought it was hilarious!!
Low point? MIL and SIL staying until almost 10.....way past my bedtime!
Best piece of advice or lesson learned from your mom? Learned that you can't depend on anyone else to take care of you, my mom learned it the hard way, but it taught me and my sister a lot!
BFP #1 August 2007, Lost Nov 2007, no heartbeat found at anatomy ultrasound at 19 wks
BFP #2 March 2011, Baby Girl born November 2011!!!
What did you do today? Went to church, DH watched DS so I could go shopping on my own, ordered pizza.
High point? DH was really helpful today. Usually I do everything with DS, from getting up early, to watching him while DH watches his sports, but today DH did everything and I got a break.
Low point? I got really sick around 8pm. Bad stomach cramps where I had a hard time breathing, felt like I was having contractions. And spent the next 2 hours on the toilet if you must know.
Best piece of advice or lesson learned from your mom? She was like the model SAHM. Always had a clean house, supper on the table, and we did so much fun stuff like going to the library for story time, the beach, "bumming," etc. I hope I can give my kids as good of a childhood as I had.
Is this your first mother's day? First "official" one. I was pregnant last Mother's Day.
What did you do today? Went to church, hung out with BIL/SIL, made dinner for them, walked around the park, watched Survivor.
High point? Getting Coldstone last night as a MD treat.
Low point? Not getting to spend any part of MD with my Mom. My Dad had surgery last week, so Mom was at the hospital with him doing PT stuff all day. He comes home today so we will be going over to help get him settled and do MD.
Best piece of advice or lesson learned from your mom? You don't have to react.
What did you do today? Spent the morning being lazy with DH & DS, then I went grocery shopping ALONE
High point? Cuddling with DS & DH in the am.
Low point? Missing my momma! Holidays have always been hard since she passed away 11 yrs ago. But now that I'm a mom, it was really hard!
Best piece of advice or lesson learned from your mom? I learned so much, but I think what sticks with me most is how much time & energy she put into her kids lives. We never ever would have second guessed her love for us. I will always strive to be as wonderful of a mother as she was!
Is this your first mother's day? Nope. It's my third.
What did you do today? We had lunch with my mom's family and then went swimming at an indoor pool nearby. It was so much fun because it was DS's first time and DD totally loved it too. Then DH made dinner.
High point? swimming
Low point? Part of my gift was going to be to sleep in until 10 but I couldn't since we made lunch plans. I am so effing sleep deprived I was looking forward to that the most.
Best piece of advice or lesson learned from your mom? What is is to work hard and sacrifice for your family and a love of reading.
