for the foreseeable future, I'll be with the kids at the very least. Last year we went to my parents, this year, DH was home most of the day, but that changes yearly - he's a FF w/ a rotating schedule, so most holidays are just regular days for us.
We do things when they fit our schedule best or if it's something big I do it alone w/my family. I take the kids to Thanksgiving at my folks house whether or not he can be there; at Christmas, b/c some people have to work on holidays helping others and some don't celebrate, Santa comes early (or late -- actually, Santa is not allowed in our house at all per #1, so I go meet him to get the gifts he's giving us & #1 gets to help me wrap them...whatever, it worked and got her to stop being petrified of Santa & all things [other than the tree] Christmas) so that we can celebrate as a family; this past Easter found the girls & I visiting my grandparents while DH worked. It's not for everyone, but it's working for us so far.

This is us too. DH is a resident, he gets no control over his schedule, and we do things when we can. This year I didn't see my Mom (although we saw her last weekend and will again next weekend), so that's what made me curious what others do.

My parents live on the other side of the world so I rarely see them for ANY holiday, let alone mothers day. We fibbed and said we couldn't see H's family today (close but still an hour drive) but I had graduation so that took up most of the day anyway
I'm SS... we spend it with MIL and all the other ILs right now and in the future we will have our children there. We also celebrate my mom, but by ourselves as she passed away.
Once in a while you get shown the light in the strangest of places if you look at it right.
PAIF and SAIF welcome. IVF questions welcome, too.
I spend it every year with my extended family on my mom's side. I am blessed that mt aunts are like mothers to me so it feels eight to spend it with them , my grandmother and SIL. The men all grill and take care of the little ones. My Dh did great today... a few of my brothers, only one who has a wife and child, had gotten Yankees tickets. Dh stepped up and really took care of sand entertained our DD (? yo) and our VERY rambunctious nephew(2 yo) so SIL could relax.

This was my first mothers day as a mommy. I was really mad at first because DH forgot. It ended up being really fun we worked around the house and hung out with both of our families. Very productive day.

This year, it was just me alone because my husband had to work and we live across the country from either of our families. In August we are moving for graduate school, and it also happens to be in the same state as my Mom and siblings. Next year, we will likely celebrate with me, baby, my husband, my mom and my siblings.
Re: Clicky Poll Re: Mother's Day
I worked last night and tonight, so I slept most of the day. Then hung out with the kids and H before work. All our family lives in another state.
